About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a senior Business Accountability Officer to strengthen the Front Line Supervision Program within Corporate Investment Banking (CIB). The primary focus will be on governance of supervisory obligations, including maintenance of Written Supervisory Procedures, review of associated controls, testing of design and operating effectiveness, issue management, and implementation of technology enhancements to support effective supervision. The successful candidate will report into the central Conduct and Supervision support team and will work closely with the Line of Business supervisors, Business Controls and COO teams as well as other support functions (e.g., Compliance, Testing, Risk, Operations, Technology, Legal, Audit and Human Resources).
In this role, you will:
Establish a robust supervision framework through implementation of Written Supervisory Procedures (WSPs) for compliance with applicable rules, regulations, and industry best practices
Create procedures and standards to ensure sustainable controls are documented in line with Wells Fargo’s risk Management Framework
Implement evidence-based control activities including defining of relevant requirements
Distribute supervisory expectations and responsibilities via WSPs and coordinate periodic acknowledgement
Communicate changes and train employees as supervision standards are implemented or adjusted
Establish and build robust Quality Assurance framework for front line monitoring activities
Support the Supervisory hierarchy and associated delegations processes
Participate in the design and delivery of strategic Front Line monitoring platform
Perform in-depth pattern analysis of specific high-risk controls or escalation
Build relationships with front office, compliance and technology teams
Lead meetings to facilitate decision making and ensure implementation of recommendations and plans
Required Qualifications:
7+ years of risk management, business controls, quality assurance, business operations, compliance, or process experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Demonstrated knowledge and experience within CIB
Desired Qualifications:
In-depth knowledge of Supervision, Supervisory programs, and the role of a Supervisor
Understanding of CIB Supervision and Conduct risks and applicable rules and regulations
Strong regulatory and business control experience, including Risk Control Self Assessments
A BS/BA degree or higher.
Experience designing and execution of governance framework(s) across multiple risk types
Experience in control design and evaluation including articulating business requirements, performing data analysis and prototyping automated controls within Excel
Experience partnering with technology throughout the development lifecycle
Process definition and documentation experience associated with controls and procedures
Ability to work collaboratively across multiple stakeholders and deliver results in a timely manner
Self-starter with ability to multitask, manage competing priorities, and effectively lead in a dynamic environment
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate complex concepts in a clear and concise manner
Strong attention to detail and high quality standard for work
