Our pioneering research is driven purely by the goal to see scientific breakthroughs bring benefits to patients sooner. CDD is the sponsor of early phase and precision medicine clinical trials in oncology agents. Our broad portfolio rivals that of a medium-sized pharmaceutical company, spanning antibodies, cell therapies, vaccines, drug conjugates and small molecules, making this an interesting and dynamic area to work in.As a Clinical Operations Manager you will, lead and line manage a team of Clinical Research Associates (CRAs) within the Clinical Operations and Data Management functional group (circa 6 direct reports). This role will be accountable for the delivery of an efficient, quality clinical operations service to agreed timelines, specifically monitoring and site management activities across the CDD portfolio of clinical trials.It is an exciting time for CDD as we’re expanding our teams to move forward with an ambitious new strategy to maximise the impact of our research to benefit patients. Several teams are hiring new roles to make this new strategy a reality, expanding the size of our project portfolio and bringing in new skills as we work more internationally. As a Clinical Operations Manager, an element of this role will be overseeing a CRO managing sites across multiple European countries, so any experience with this will be beneficial but isn’t essential.What will I be doing?

• Recruit, develop and retain a high performing CRA team.
• Anticipate and plan CRA resource requirements to support operational activities across the CDD portfolio.
• Provide training and conduct appropriate quality control (QC) activities such as shadowing and accompanied field visits for CRAsto ensure all clinical operation activities meet relevant regulatory standards.
• Liaise and work with the internal CDD Senior Leaders and Project Leaders to maintain oversight of project status, risks and quality against project goals and key metrics.
• Define and drive the process improvements required within the CRA team,

What are you looking for?

• Science qualification, nursing qualification or equivalent in a relevant discipline.
• Knowledge of GCP and UK clinical research environment.
• Proven people management and leadership skills.
• Strong logistical and planning skills.
• Experience of managing clinical trials.
• Experience of CRO oversight (desirable but not essential).
• Worked within oncology/haematology therapeutic area, preferably with Phase I oncology/haematology experience (desirable but not essential).
