Your Opportunity:Working as part of the concurrent capable team, the Clinical Supervisor will provide leadership to the Lethbridge Youth Treatment Centre (LYTC) and Overdose Prevention Site (OPS) teams by clinically supervising, coaching and coordinating and supporting the day-to-day clinical delivery and operations for the psychosocial supports endorsed by Recovery Alberta. Working in collaboration with Program Supervisor (ACIV), Assistant Head Nurse and Manager, the Clinical Supervisor will ensure integrated, client and family centered, culturally competent, trauma informed care. Additionally, the Clinical Supervisor will also provide family counselling with a case load at the LYTC. Responsibilities will include providing, organizing and facilitating formal counselling with clients & their families. Working with the Program Supervisor and Mental Health Therapist(s); the Clinical Supervisor will help to provide family counselling services, build capacity with the LYTC clinical team and endorse family-centered practice and service. By applying on this posting, if you are the successful candidate, you agree to and will become an employee of Recovery Alberta.Description:As a Clinical Supervisor, you will provide clinical supervision for a discipline, practice area or service sector supporting clinicians to provide excellence in professional practice and enable quality, patient and family-centered care. In this clinical leadership role, you will provide clinical supervision to staff providing addiction and/or mental health services to individuals, families, and groups. This role involves supervision related to a range of assessment, mental health (psychosocial and psychological interventions), and other activities. You will be required to supervise regulated staff requiring supervision to meet the regulatory requirements for practice, and/or to unregulated staff providing the restricted activity of psychosocial intervention. This may include observing clinical sessions, reviewing clinical documentation and written reports, conducting team case consultations and offering support, and providing guidance and direction to clinical staff with challenging and urgent cases in a timely manner. In your role, you may work with members of the interdisciplinary team, psychiatrists and community partners in support of effective professional and collaborative practice. You may contribute to the planning, implementation and evaluation of mental health treatment services in a hospital setting or community. You may also identify and address gaps in clinical practice as well as facilitate addressing of system level gaps and risk management issues. You may provide support to leadership in the hiring, orientation and performance evaluation of clinical staff.

Required Qualifications:Master’s Degree in Psychology or Social Work. Active or eligible for full registration (not provisional) with College of Alberta Psychologists (CAP) or the Alberta College of Social Work (ACSW). A minimum of 5 years’ experience in providing mental health assessment and intervention, including restricted activity of psychosocial intervention. Additional Required Qualifications:Due to the Clinical Supervision component of this position, the candidate will hold an active registration with appropriate college that allows for supervision of other clinicians. Must possess active registration (in good standing) with a professional college as outlined in the Health Professions Act (ACSW with psychosocial intervention authorization, CAPP, CARNA). Bachelor’s degree in social work or other equivalent education (active registration with college) will be considered with extensive and related experience First Aid, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention and Suicide Intervention. Class IV (Driver’s license) required 3-5 months after hiring. Preferred Qualifications:Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience working within a multi-disciplinary team regarding Mental Health & Addiction issues/concern; preferably with some previous child/youth experience. Preference will be given to those candidates who have previous experience (2 years or more) with clinical supervision and /or family counselling experience.
