Reporting to the Manager, the Clinical Therapist provides assessment and planning, treatment and intervention, and crisis management for clients. The Clinical Therapist carries out the general duties of the Child & Adolescent Service team but in addition to those duties, participates in quality initiatives in the program of care, engages in collaborative person-centred care, and utilizes available information technology to support best practice. The Clinical Therapist receives and provides supervision and mentorship as part of a community of practice. It is an expectation that the Clinical Therapist will act in a professional and ethical manner, following all recognized codes of ethics, standards, legislation, and guidelines relevant to clinical practice and profession. They will convey respect and a solid understanding of subtle and complex diversity and inclusion issues as they relate to specific groups.About YouWe would love to hear from you if you have the following:

• Master’s degree in a clinical health-related discipline (Masters in Social Work, Psychology (Registered, Masters), Masters in Counseling, Masters in Nursing, Masters in Occupational Therapy)
• Must be registered with the relevant regulatory body
• Two years’ related experience required (including assessment and planning, treatment and intervention and discharge planning).
• Non Violence Crisis Intervention (NVCI) preferred
• Suicide Risk Assessment preferred
• In-depth and critical understanding of the principles of harm reduction, the dynamics of addiction and evidence based interventions for the treatment of addiction.
• Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of standard criteria used (DSM V) for the classification and diagnosis of mental health disorders.
• Demonstrated knowledge and skills in individual/ group cognitive behavioral therapy as well as psycho educational groups.
• Excellent problem-solving, organizational and prioritization skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks
• Demonstrated knowledge and skills in crisis intervention, suicide and violence risk assessment/ intervention
• Non-violent crisis intervention, Standard First Aid, CPR, Mental Health First Aid training required.
• Demonstrated ability to take initiative, work independently with limited supervision and participate as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
• Basic competencies in relation to identifying and treating concurrent mental health and substance use disorders
• Experience in interviewing, counseling and teaching health concepts to individuals, families and groups.
• Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Compensation and IncentivesClinical Therapist: $37.31 – $49.05Hourly
Clinical Therapist (Developmental): $33.27 – $42.01 HourlySuccessful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
