  • Learning to implement Cloud infrastructure (Microsoft Azure, identity/authentication, supporting Developer tools, Observability, etc)
  • Designing and implementing tools and automations running on distributed systems
  • Finding opportunities to automate time-consuming, manual work
  • Performing root cause analyses and proposing and/or implementing engineering solutions to prevent or mitigate recurring incidents
  • Participating in design and code reviews

Requirements

  • Desire to learn about Infrastructure
  • Debugging and analytical skills
  • Able to communicate technical concepts
  • Basic Linux command-line familiarity
  • Familiarity with scripting
  • Familiarity with source control (git preferred)
  • Familiarity with container technologies (Docker, containerd , etc)

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of networking technologies (e.g., TCP, UDP, DNS)
  • Experience diving into code to understand how it’s supposed to work — and why it doesn’t
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines(Github Actions, CircleCI , Gitlab CI/CD , etc.
  • Experience with Observability tools (Elasticsearch, Grafana, Splunk, etc.)
  • Experience with identity and secrets management
  • Experience with container orchestration tools (Kubernetes, OpenShift, Nomad, etc)

These values reflect the expected annualized base pay range of new hires in British Columbia, Canada. Actual amounts will vary depending on experience, performance and location. In addition to a competitive base pay, employees in this role may be eligible for incentive compensation. Incentive compensation is not guaranteed.
