  • 14.8 hours per week. Work pattern to be agreed with successful candidate and line manager.
  • Role includes hybrid working locations including home with regular periods at the Quantock Office, Fyne Court, Broomfield.
  • Role will include occasional evening meetings
  • 25 days annual leave (pro rata).
  • Fixed term contract until 31st March 2025.
  • This role will be providing administrative and communication support for the National Landscape volunteers and wider team.

We’re working to conserve the unique landscape of the Quantock Hills National Landscape and support the use and enjoyment by communities, users and visitors alike. The National Landscape Team is supported by a significant number of volunteers undertaking a variety of roles from practical land management to leading walks and events. These roles target the four core themes of our work – Nature, People, Landscape and Heritage – and you’ll be a key part of that work . Your day-to-day work will involve:

  • To provide administrative support including maintaining records and online volunteer management systems.
  • To liaison with volunteers and external organisations / groups providing information and directing enquiries to other team members as appropriate.
  • To provide communication support including communicating with the volunteers about updates, opportunities in volunteering and promoting volunteering through social media and other methods.
  • Work with the National Landscape team to contribute to our other collaborative work across the Quantock Hills.
  • Work closely with the team to develop new ways to engage with volunteers and potential volunteers to raise awareness of the opportunities to volunteers.

We offer ongoing support, training and guidance to help you be the best you can be. But it will really help if you have:

  • Experience of administrative support activities such as record keeping, producing meeting notes.
  • Experience of communication support activities including use of social media in a work context and use of IT packages in design and production of newsletters.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, experience engaging stakeholders
  • Strong IT skills, including with Microsoft Office.
