Reports to: Manager, Communications & Resource Development
Location: Hybrid; primarily remote, but required to travel to our Provincial Office (1179 King St W, Toronto, ON, M6K 3C5) or a regional office when required
Hours: 37.5hrs per week
Annual Salary: $65000-$68000
Duration: One year contractPosition OverviewThe Communications Specialist, Marketing Analytics will lead Autism Ontario’s marketing analytics and community management on social media channels, as well as directly support with content development and identifying opportunities to promote Autism Ontario digitally and in the media. This role involves planning, implementing, evaluating, and making recommendations related to Autism Ontario’s marketing strategy and promotional campaigns.This role requires a self-starter who takes initiative and works collaboratively with management, staff, and partner organizations to coordinate and successfully increase awareness of Autism Ontario’s advocacy, programs, services, supports, and fundraising events.Key Responsibilities:

  • With the support of the Manager, Communications & Resource Development, lead the development and execution of Autism Ontario’s marketing and analytics strategy.
  • Measure and report the impact of social media, external communications, and advocacy-related campaigns.
  • Recommend actions and strategies for campaign optimization and media coverage.
  • Analyze digital and social communication channels to manage community activity and identify audience trends.
  • Track email campaign metrics (delivery, open, click-through rates) and lead post-campaign analysis and reporting.
  • Monitor and interpret results of paid ad campaigns; recommend improvements.
  • Report on marketing performance indicators such as leads, conversion rates, website traffic, social media engagement, and media traction.
  • Directly support the Communications team with content development across multiple digital platforms (e.g., website) and channels (e.g., social media).
  • Monitor media trends to identify opportunities for promoting initiatives and advocacy efforts.
  • Track and report on media coverage and campaign effectiveness.
  • Engage with Autism Ontario’s digital communities (social media, etc.) to build positive relationships and foster engagement.
  • Monitor social media channels for potential issues and coordinate responses appropriately.
  • Provide monthly analytics as well as regular reports on community engagement metrics and insights.
  • Collaborate with other Communication Specialists and be a backup as needed.
  • Support the development and planning of communications and other materials as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned, as this is a new position at Autism Ontario, there could be changes in the future.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, or a related field, with a minimum of 3-5 years of experience working in a related discipline or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, copyediting, project management, and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated expertise in analyzing data and analytics, measuring impact, reporting on results, and making recommendations for future campaign success.
  • Experience monitoring news media, reputation management, and media relations.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with partners and stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Proven experience in managing media interactions and building relationships with media outlets, reporters, and journalists.
  • Experience in engaging with online communities to build positive relationships and foster engagement.
  • Flexible, self-motivated team player with excellent judgment, resourcefulness, innovation, and organizational skills.
  • Strong knowledge of social media monitoring and/or listening tools such as Hootsuite, Meta for Business, Google Analytics, Drupal, Microsoft Office applications, and content management systems.
  • Graphic design knowledge and experience with relevant design software such as Adobe InDesign, Canva, etc. to develop content and materials.
  • Proven track record of working in a charitable organization, engaging with community service providers and volunteers.
  • Ability to work in an environment where change is constant.
  • Experience with the nonprofit sector and issues related to autism is an asset.
  • Demonstrated excellent relationship-building, collaboration, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to principles of social justice, neurodiversity, equity, inclusion, anti-racism, anti-Black racism, anti-ableism.
  • French language is an asset.
