NHS Fife Older Adult Community Mental Health ServicesAn exciting opportunity has arisen within the Older Adult Community Mental Health Team, and we would like to welcome applications from highly motivated individuals, with a background in working with older adults with mental illness, to join us as a Community Mental Health Nurse. You will be based at Kinnaird ward, Stratheden hospital, Cupar.In applying for this role, you will be a nurse registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council.The registered applicant will be expected to have knowledge of, and experience in, dealing with issues relating to the health and wellbeing of older adults with mental illness. They will be able to engage with patients to help work on their recovery and personal outcomes.
We are seeking a confident individual who has the skills to deal with challenging situations, on their own, in patient’s homes across East Fife, and who demonstrate an appreciation of the diversity of the workload. You will hold your own caseload and be expected to complete mental health assessments and implement and evaluate person centred individualised care plans.You must possess excellent communication skills and be adaptable to change and evidence continual personal development.
The successful candidate will work independently but also be part of the multidisciplinary team and provide supervision for student nurses and health care support workers.
There is a need to use IT systems such as Microsoft Office and MorseSuccessful applicants will receive a full induction, and supervision.IT IS VITAL THAT THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE CAN TRAVEL ACROSS A LARGE GEOGRAPHICAL AREA IN A TIMELY MANNER.Working pattern – The service operates within office hours Monday to Friday 0900-1700, although there may be the addition of weekend working in future.For informal enquiries or to arrange an informal visit, please contact Nurse Team leader Monica Grossett Team Leader on 01334 651347NHS Scotland is reducing their full-time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. Your offer/contract of employment will therefore reflect the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
