This is a specialist mental health & wellbeing service based in Dundee GP practices providing specialist brief assessment for adults experiencing mental health difficulties. Working with colleagues from other mental health and wellbeing services, both statutory and non-statutory, and alongside the growing Primary Care team, PALMS role is to assess and signpost to appropriate self management resources or third sector services, provide direct low intensity brief intervention or liaise with and refer on to statutory mental health services where appropriate. PALMS clinicians also act as Mental Health Specialist and provide consultation and support to GPs and other Primary Care staff.PALMS is a valued service both for patients and Primary Care and GP practice staff helping adults experiencing mental health difficulties to access the right support at the right time. PALMS is a developing service and this is an exciting opportunity for experienced Mental Health Nurses to get involved and join a relatively new service, helping to shape mental health & wellbeing services at community level. Full training, support and supervision will be provided. Full or part time hours will be considered.PALMS is part of the Dundee Adult Psychological Therapies Service. In joining PALMS you will also be part of the wider Tayside Area Psychological Therapies Service which has a compliment of around 160 clinicians and 18 Trainees. This is a busy department with close links to the Universities of Dundee, Stirling, Edinburgh and South of Scotland. Members of the Department contribute to the teaching, supervision and training of Clinical Psychology Trainees and Trainee Clinical Associates in Applied Psychology as well as staff pursuing a Post Graduate qualification such as the Diploma in CBT for Mental Health Professionals.
