We have new opportunity for a Configuration Manager to join our USAF CLS program team for a USAF Customer Contract, at our Gray Butte Flight Operations Facility in Palmdale, California . Under the supervision of a Program Manager, this position is responsible for overseeing, coordinating, and managing the configuration management activities relative to identification, control, and accounting for systems and/or equipment in accordance with contractual requirements. Ensures customer support requirements and objectives are achieved within budget and on schedule. May represent the organization as a primary contact.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provides leadership, plans, and establishes standard configuration processes and tools.

Monitors all configuration activities for compliance with standard processes.

Coordinates configuration activities for selected projects, including policies and procedures that conform to Military Standards and Programs.

Supports USAF configuration expectations related to T-2/TCTO/IMDS/T.O. and DAFI 21-101

Identifies configuration issues and provides leadership in developing solutions such as re-allocation of resources or modifying configuration tools and documentation generating tools.

Assist with development of project plan and manage resources to ensure project schedule, budget, quality, and specification goals are attained.

Coordinates configuration activities for selected projects, including policies and procedures that conform to Military Standards and Programs

Coordinate departmental and/or cross-functional teams to assign and prioritize tasks focused on delivering new or upgrading existing products and/or services.

Create progress reports, proposals, and requirements documentation.

Maintain the strict confidentiality of sensitive information.

Responsible for ensuring all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations are observed wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company.

Responsible for ensuring work is accomplished in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.

Job Qualifications:
-
Typically requires a bachelor’s degree and nine or more years of progressive configuration management experience in an engineering environment with at least three of those years managing configuration processes. May substitute equivalent experience in lieu of education.

Must demonstrate a detailed technical expertise and application of configuration principles, concepts, and practices.

Must possess:

Comprehensive project management and leadership skills to include organizing, planning, scheduling, and coordinating workloads to meet established deadlines.

Strong communication, computer, documentation, leadership, presentation, and interpersonal skills are required to enable an effective interface with others.

The ability to initiate, plan and manage projects

The ability to identify issues, analyze and interpret data and develop solutions to a wide range of issues

The ability to work independently and as part of a team

Must be able to resolve complex management and technical problems and serve as spokesperson on configuration issues.

Must be customer focused, demonstrate high initiative, perform effectively in a team environment, and be able to work extended hours and travel as required.
