Patients admitted to XXX may be informal or detained under the Mental Health Act with a primary diagnosis of mental illness and personality disorder with complex needs.We are seeking a full time Consultant Psychiatrist to cover a 24 bed Community Facing Rehabilitation and Recovery service. You will fulfil the role of Responsible Clinician to patients; supervising the process of referral and admission, including contribution to the pre-admission assessments of adults.

  • You will be part of a well-established and cohesive multi-disciplinary team which includes a; Speciality Doctor, Principal Psychologist, Senior Occupational Therapist, Occupational Therapist, Registered Mental Health and Learning Disability Nurses, Occupational Therapy Assistants, Ward Manager and Recovery Support Workers.
  • XXX also has strong links with other surrounding XXX Hospitals within the region, providing the opportunity to network with other Consultants from different specialisms and service lines as well as obtain supervision and support from the Regional Medical Director.

The hospital works closely with NHS partners to ensure that patients safely transition from our service back into the community, with robust follow up support packages.

  • To join us, you must have experience of working in inpatient settings with people with various mental health difficulties.
  • Experience of working with service users with a forensic history would be advantageous.
  • You will have prior experience at Consultant level, including the ability to conduct training.
  • You will continue to hold registration with the GMC including being on the special register for Psychiatry.
