The Role:

We are searching for an exceptional individual who is highly skilled and passionate to join our team as a Consulting Partner, Brand & Sustainability.

The Consulting Partner will bring a unique blend of creative thinking, strategic depth, and analytical rigour to our clients and their brands, and the social and environmental impact they need to have in the world. The ideal candidate will possess a mix of brand, marketing and sustainability strategy skills, ideally with broader ESG and social impact experience. They will demonstrate proven expertise in delivering brand transformations, from unearthing insights in consumer research, to creating distinctive positioning statements, brand houses and messaging frameworks. They might also have experience in brand architecture, visual identity, creative activation, and broader marketing innovation.

Within sustainability, they should demonstrate a track record of integrating ESG strategies and sustainability initiatives into go-to-market strategies, identifying the material environmental and social challenges for brands to lead on, and verifying their potential sustainability claims for propositions and communications. Behaviour change is a key component of Ogilvy Consulting’s approach, and alongside colleagues in our behavioural science community of expertise, they will create strategies with real-world and environmental impact on a diverse range of sustainability challenges. They will be a sustainability, brand and business advisor to clients, and an expert in social and environmental impact within the team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leads multiple, large scale project engagements and client relationships, managing projects strategically, commercially, and operationally
  • Takes on revenue targets, sourcing opportunities from current clients, the wider Ogilvy and parent company WPP’s client base and directly from the market
  • Applies the right approaches and methodologies with an agile mindset, taking ownership of client deliverables and timelines
  • Reframes strategic problems to lead clients to better outcomes
  • Demonstrates compelling leadership in strategic new business pitches and initiatives
  • Works with other Ogilvy businesses to identify, scope and deliver engagements that bring an integrated team to a client problem, with social and environmental impact as a key component
  • Defines the appropriate strategic frameworks for solution development and guides the final deliverables in accordance with a deep understanding and knowledge of the client
  • Keeps abreast of new ideas, policy and innovations in their area of expertise, contributing to the Ogilvy Consulting knowledge base and upskilling colleagues wherever possible
  • Suggests new approaches, information sources and techniques to junior members of the team, increasing their exposure and knowledge of sustainability as their project and/or line manager
  • Acts as a role model; regularly being sought out after for views by peers and the wider team
  • Contributes to a positive, diverse working environment that fosters-high quality output and coaching others to ensure collaborative working

Skills and Attributes:

  • At least 15 years of brand and sustainability strategy consulting experience with a consultancy, innovation agency, research agency, client strategy or research position, or equivalent role
  • Experience integrating ESG and sustainability strategies and initiatives into brand marketing and comms, from go-to-market strategies to behaviour change initiatives
  • Understanding of green claims guidance and environmental regulation relevant to client operations
  • Formal sustainability training, either academic or through a provider such as the Cambridge Institute of Sustainability Leadership
  • Experience working with FMCG brands, for example in innovation programmes, brand architecture, portfolio strategy, design strategy and creative excellence
  • A creative and innovative approach to modern marketing and how to advise and inspire clients, challenging conventional views and presenting ideas persuasively to gain buy-in
  • A balance of analytical skills and creative thinking, being able to draw critical human and cultural insights from data and observation and apply it to business, brand and sustainability challenges
  • An ability to develop, translate and communicate strategic thinking into executable solutions
  • An ability to develop breakthrough brand strategies through a deep understanding of clients and their business
  • Strong business acumen and critical thinking skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Proven ability to manage stakeholders at the most senior level
  • A curiosity and energy that runs through everything you turn your hand to and motivates others around you – including a willingness to get hands on with new platforms and technologies like AI
