The Content Marketing Specialist is a key team member, integrated into the daily execution and planning of strategic content from ideation to launch. The ideal candidate is a creative, innovative and goal-oriented self-starter who’s passionate about unique multi-platform storytelling that engages and inspires consumersHere’s where you’ll be focusing:

  • Work in partnership with cross-functional marketing, creative and external agency teams on Omnichannel content strategy and planning for website, social, in-store signage, email, sponsorship and other channels as required
  • Optimize storytelling across channels, working with key stakeholders and channel owners for creative and strategic alignment
  • Map organic social media content planning, maintain social calendars and work lock step with creative teams both internal and external on asset concepts and file delivery workflow
  • Track and source data insights to continually optimize digital content channels, including website and social media platforms
  • Produce monthly social media reports and post campaign wrap reports across channels
  • Develop integrated content plans and strategies to support marketing campaigns and initiatives across our banner sites from brainstorm to content creation and digital production
  • Write, edit and proofread multi-platform content assets on a daily basis producing compelling on-brand content across all channels to inspire consumers and drive product discovery
  • Excel in content planning and strategy for retail/consumer facing touch points both online and in-store
  • Maintain attention to detail while ensuring content optimization and brand consistency, while executing content programs from brief to publish
  • Opportunities to support exciting brands across the organization including Sobeys, Safeway, Compliments, Foodland, Thrifty Foods and FreshCo
  • Producing best in class content that resonates with customers
  • Have a full understanding of our customers and key consumer drivers learned through research and insights
  • Deliver a reliable and WOW content experience across banners, continually improving process and identifying efficiencies
  • Support Brand, Flyer, Digital, Creative, Merchandising, Loyalty, Owned Brands and Enterprise with content plans and go-to-market strategies

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Copy writing experience
  • Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills
  • Ability to prioritize projects and change tactics as needed in a fast-paced environment
  • Expert-level capabilities in social media content planning, calendar management, data reporting and execution
  • Strong knowledge of digital marketing touchpoints and consumer journeys across channels including email, website and social
  • Strong capabilities in digital content: website UX, SEO-led content & engaging online experiences
  • Project management skills with a demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks from concept to implementation on time and on budget
  • Bachelor’s / Post-Secondary degree in journalism, communications or marketing
  • 5-10 years experience in social media and or website in a content strategy/execution/planning capacity
  • Relevant experience in digital content expertise for social, web and digital marketing including data analytics, optimization, SEO etc.
  • Proven editorial and copy writing skills for multiple channels like POS, social, web & email
