The Senior Accountant / Assistant Controller is responsible for providing financial leadership, oversight, and strategic support across multiple entities within the organization. This role will manage and develop the accounting team, lead month-end closing processes, enhance financial reporting and analysis, and ensure compliance with regulatory and external requirements. The Senior Accountant / Assistant Controller will also drive process improvements, strengthen internal controls, and act as a key liaison with external auditors and regulatory bodies. — KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
As the Senior Accountant / Assistant Controller, you will plan and execute the administration and accounting functions for certain entities within the Group. Your responsibilities will include:
Financial Leadership and Team Management

• Build and lead a high-performing finance team (12+ direct and indirect reports), providing mentorship and professional development opportunities. Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Develop and maintain effective organizational structure for accounting operations, ensuring efficiency and scalability.

Month-End Close and Financial Reporting

• Ensure the production of accurate and timely financial statements and reports. Manage monthly and quarterly closing processes, ensuring compliance with ASPE and corporate policies. Oversee tax reporting and related accounting requirements.
• Prepare consolidated financial statements and oversee intercompany reconciliations.
• Implement and monitor financial controls to enhance data accuracy and integrity.

— REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Degree in accounting required, CPA, CA, or CMA designation a plus.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including managing accounting teams.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and corporate policies.
• Strong skills in financial planning, budgeting, and analysis.
• Advanced knowledge and experience with accounting software ERP (Jonas preferred), MS Office and Excel.
• Extensive experience with reconciliations, month-end closing processes, financial reporting, and compliance.
• Excellent leadership, communication, presentation, problem solving, and organizational skills are essential.
• High level of critical and logical thinking, analysis, and/or reasoning to identify underlying principles, reasons, or facts.
• Able to work well under pressure and meet set deadlines.
• Good organizational, time management and prioritizing skills
• Attention to detail in all areas of work.
• Hands on approach, able to lead and work alongside your team.

— PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience in the construction or infrastructure industry.
• Proficiency with Jonas Construction Software or other ERP systems.
• Familiarity with project-based accounting and cost control.
• Experience managing multi-entity financial operations.
