The role supports the Costing Accountant and the Head of Business Finance in the accurate production of the Trusts National Cost Collection returns, ensuring that national deadlines are achieved.Main duties of the jobThe post-holder will be responsible for the processing of costing data in accordance with the NHS Costing Manual and annual National Cost Collection. This will require interpretation of guidance and coordination of the work of other team members and divisional colleagues.The Costing Officer will be responsible for providing specialty and procedure costs for business planning and will provide Service Line Reports and analysis to support Service Line Management.The post holder will support the Costing Accountant in the development and on-going delivery of the costing and pricing. function to include Patient Level Costing and Service Line ReportingAbout usUniversity Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust is one of the largest and most modern in the country. - CCAB part -qualified accountant and actively studying (or equivalent level of experience)
Skills, ability and knowledgeEssential
- Advanced IT skills – Excel
- Knowledge, equivalent experience & expertise in an NHS Costing role
Desirable
- Knowledge of computerised ledger systems
ExperienceEssential
- Experience of financial accounting systems and procedures
- 2 years working in a similar environment

- NHS Finance experience

- Ability to establish rapport and credibility with Finance Directorate and throughout the Trust
- Flexible, enthusiastic and determined
