Job title:

Credit & Reporting Analyst

Company

Kroo Bank

Job description

What We’re All About at KrooKroo has a big vision. To be the first bank that is both trusted and loved by its customers. We’re helping people take control of their financial future and achieve their goals, whilst making a positive impact on the planet. Here at Kroo, doing what is right is in our DNA. We act with integrity, transparency and honesty. We think big, dream big, and relentlessly pursue our goals. We like to be bold, break new ground, and we never stop learning. But most importantly, we are on this journey together.About the TeamWe are hiring a Credit & Reporting Analyst within the Lending team. This is a ‘front line’ role, shaping the way we lend and manage our loan portfolio. Lending is a key focus for the bank, we have an operational business and some ambitious goals to scale in the next year. This role is integral to supporting our lending strategy: focused on returns and profitability, alongside sound credit risk management. What you’ll do

  • Channel analysis: get into the weeds to understand our various customer acquisition channels – exploring the relative creditworthiness, costs, and scale of each.
  • Credit analysis: conduct thorough reviews of credit decisioning, assessing creditworthiness, affordability measurement and outcomes.
  • Portfolio monitoring: monitor the performance of the lending portfolio, spotting trends and risks across various segments, and recommending actions to mitigate potential issues.
  • Credit reporting: prepare detailed reports and analytics on credit risk, portfolio performance and key risk indicators, delivering insights to support informed business decisions.
  • Stakeholder reporting: develop and manage reporting with others, internally and externally, who need an accurate view on our performance and trends.
  • Collaboration: work with colleagues in data, product, engineering, finance, operations and compliance – basically, everyone.

Process improvement: be on the lookout for opportunities to improve credit review processes and reporting methodologies, so we can make better lending decisions.RequirementsAbout you

  • Experience in credit analysis and portfolio risk measurement, preferably in a consumer lending environment. We believe a first-principles understanding will help guide your work.
  • Proficient in data analysis tools (SQL is a must). We have rapidly growing datasets and will need you to navigate those using the most practical and efficient tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, able to interrogate a dataset and identify patterns of interest. We’re here to support and work collaboratively whenever needed but you should be able to approach abstract problems.
  • Reporting experience – we use Lightdash, but SQL and any experience with tools such as Tableau will be helpful. Problem solving is only part of the need; presenting the observations clearly and succinctly is as important.
  • Startup or scaleup experience is a plus, gumption and proactive attitude are essential. In smaller, rapidly growing businesses like ours it’s important that you take steps to solve or work around problems and not just point at them.
  • Familiarity with UK lending regulatory requirements is a plus (FCA, PRA, and GDPR compliance).
