The team consists of Police Officers and Police Staff located at CSU offices at Police Headquarters (Exeter), Ashburton, Crownhill (Plymouth) and Camborne.The CSU Supervisor post will be based at the Headquarters CSU office, with opportunities to work remotely on occasions according to business need. The post holder will have primary responsibility for supervising CSU Police Officer and Police Staff team members based at the Headquarters and Ashburton office but will be required support the Sergeants with the supervision of the wider team, as necessary. There will be a requirement to visit the Ashburton office according to operational need.CSU have a quality assurance role to promote, maintain and improve Crime Data Integrity and compliance with the Home Office Counting Rules for recorded crime (HOCR), through reviews of Niche Occurrences, the finalisation of recorded crimes and the application of outcomes. In addition, CSU team members have a Dedicated Decision Maker (DDM) role in relation to crime cancellation and reclassification requests on behalf of the Force Crime Registrar and crime recording advice and support to officers and staff.The CSU Supervisor will manage the allocation of team members daily CSU tasks to achieve set priorities, objectives, and tasks, ensuring the efficient use of resources, chair regular team meetings, manage team and individual team member performance and support the development and wellness of team members.Applicants should have some familiarisation and knowledge of the HOCR and the National Crime Recording Standard (NCRS).
