Summary About the position: The position Custodial Worker (Housekeeper) is located at Lodging, RAF Mildenhall, United Kingdom. The function of the organization is to provide lodging to transient personnel and their families. Performs a variety of simple cleaning tasks associated with lodging operations. Must be able to continuously stand, stoop, and reach for long period of time. STANDING REGISTER ANNOUNCEMENT: Applications will be reviewed, and referrals made every 7 days. Responsibilities Performs the full range of cleaning duties in an assigned area which may consist of guest rooms, corridors, pet friendly rooms and/or restrooms etc. Sweeps, dry mobs, scrubs, waxes and polishes floors, using brooms, mops, vacuum cleaners, and floor scrubbers and buffers. Dusts, waxes, and polishes furniture. Empties ashtrays and wastebaskets. Polishes door knobs and other metal fixtures. Washes walls, windows, and blinds that can be reached with the use of ladders. Occasionally works on ladders to clean venetian blinds, etc. Makes beds and change linens. Collects soiled linen and places it at a pick up point. Receives clean linen and deliver it where directed, using a hand-truck. Uses various preparations to clean and maintain linoleum, wood, marble, and various kinds of floor, wall and ceiling surfaces. Cleans, disinfects, and deodorizes lavatories, urinals, and toilet bowls. Cleans mirrors, sinks, and water fountains. Dusts ledges, woodwork, and furniture. Replaces deodorizers, toilet tissue, hand towels, soap, and other complimentary sundry items. Removes stains from a variety of surfaces, using chemicals and cleaning solutions. Runs powered cleaning equipment, cleans and oils it, and changes brushes and accessories. Reports to supervisor broken windows, water leaks, clogged drains, and other conditions requiring maintenance. Keeps a stock of cleaning materials and equipment needed to do the work. Advises supervisor when more materials are needed or when equipment needs repair or replacement. Reports any violation(s) of the TLF policy conditions immediately to the supervisor. When assigned to pet friendly facilities, duties may include disposing of animal waste/feces, removing/cleaning/replacing pet carriers upon guest/pet check-out as needed. Qualifying Experience: Knowledge of the proper uses of a variety of special cleaning and sanitizing solutions and how to remove different kinds of stains from a wide variety of surfaces. Ability to independently complete full range of duties on their own and without instructions. Must be able to use, clean and make adjustments to power cleaning equipment such as stammers, vacuums and dryers. Ability to read and follow simple signs and specific written and/or oral instructions. Must be able to continuously stand, stoop, and reach for long periods of time. You will be evaluated on the basis of your suitability and fitness for the position. Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution in order to qualify.
