And our fintech team finds and supports socially useful start-ups and scale-ups working in the workplace, home, insurance and wealth areas.Joining us means helping create brighter financial futures for all our customers.Recruiter: Clarice Wale Clarice.wale2@landg.com Closing date: 20/02/2025Job DescriptionWe are hiring two Team Managers to join us in our Underwriting Team.Your role will be to pro-actively manage and develop an Underwriting team to help them be the best they can be, consistently delivering quality Underwriting Risk Management Decisions, in line with our philosophy and represent Legal & General in a way that positively role models our values and behaviours.We are offering a base salary of up to £43,000, dependant on experience. Following a short period of training in our office, you’ll then be 50% homebased and 50% based from our Hove office. The role is full time Monday to Friday and the latest you’ll finish is 17:00, meaning you’ll have the weekends off to relax!Principle Accountabilities

• Manage your team by developing, coaching and empowering people that embeds a culture of people engagement and value. Leads with an understanding of their people as individuals and role modelling the values and behaviours with a positive can-do attitude
• Contributing positively to the planning, forecasting and the allocation of work to the team to ensure work is completed in line with published standards
• Develop mutually beneficial relationships with all internal and external stakeholders to deliver the best outcomes for our customers, people and the business
• Communicates clearly and confidently on a wide range of subjects to ensure messages and outcomes are understood by all
• Create a culture which enables people to constructively challenge the way we work to improve the way we do things, including customer journey and efficiency
• Uses a range of management information and observations to review performance and set clear expectations, documenting this clearly to track on going performance improvements
• Understand the commitments that are made about the level of service during the marketing and sales processes to ensure the area is capable of meeting those expectations and that customers’ reasonable expectation of performance and service are met
• To manage the team in accordance with the Company’s policies and procedures, including the Partnership Agreement, so that the team’s business objectives are achieved consistently

Qualifications

• Knowledge of products, processes procedures of relevant business area
• Demonstrate exceptional leadership, coaching and motivational skills to deliver our vision of doing the right things in the right way for our customers, shareholders and colleagues
• Able make accurate and confident decisions within authorised autonomy
• Effective communication skills
• Able to understand and interpret a range of MI and the ability to analyse and evaluate risk data
• Problem solving and decision-making skills
• Able to plan and organise their time and workflow, delivering expected outcomes
