What you’ll be doing: 

  • Follow an agreed shift pattern to execute operational activities of the SOC capabilities, including protective monitoring, incident handling and threat hunting
  • Monitor security alert feeds to detect, triage and investigate security events and classify them as incidents where appropriate
  • Follow defined procedures for escalating and handling security incidents to support the wider SOC team in driving timely and effective incident response and resolution
  • Conduct threat hunting by analysing data to identify existing threats on the network
  • Support the continuous improvement of Maersk’s capability to detect and respond to incidents by collaborating with other teams across Security Operations
  • Act upon feedback from L3 analysts and continuously challenge and develop to the next level
  • Support, coach and develop L1 analysts – including quality assessment of tickets and through constructive feedback

To succeed in this role, we believe that you can offer: 

Technical skills:

  • Can demonstrate hands on analytical skills for log data examination, common Cyber incident response capability and incident Management.
  • Understanding of cybersecurity standards and frameworks e.g., ISO27001, NIST, CIS, OWASP, SANS
  • Qualifications within IT Security (e.g., CISSP, CEH, GSEC, GCIH, GCIA, GMON) are desirable but training also may be provided where necessary
  • Good knowledge and understanding of how to handle and respond to security incidents as part of a specialised incident response team
  • Strong working knowledge and thorough understanding of Protective Monitoring, Vulnerability Monitoring, Threat Intelligence and Threat Hunting
  • Knowledge and understanding of security technologies and processes
  • Good awareness and knowledge of current exploit techniques, vulnerability disclosures, security analysis techniques, combined with the understanding of the potential impact if unaddressed

Experience:

  • At least 2+ years of relevant experience in Cyber Security Operations
  • Sufficient experience of Cyber Incident Response
  • Has worked in Security Operations Centre or similar environments
  • Experience in protective monitoring of different technologies and tooling
  • Sufficient understanding or experience with vulnerability and threat management
  • Worked with or developed security devices such as SIEM, firewalls etc.
  • Experience of working in fast-paced, high-pressure environments

Note this role will follow a 24×7 shift pattern:

06:00 – 14:45

14:00 – 22:45
