At Checkout our data scientists leverage cutting-edge technology and data insights that enable our Merchants to boost their acceptance rates, cut processing costs, fight fraud, and create cutting edge technology that enables extraordinary customer experiences.We’re looking for scientists who bring fresh ideas, have a curious nature and are eager to deal with new challenges in a scientific environment which focuses on exploring how AI, ML and data can help to achieve the company’s strategic goals. You’ll get to work with teams from across Checkout.com’s portfolio of products and services who all have a real customer first philosophy.As a data scientist, on our Emerging Products pillar you will work on specific projects critical to Checkout’s needs by fostering innovation and developing pioneering solutions that complement our core enterprise offerings. Our goal is to explore new ideas and technologies, create products that meet the evolving needs of the digital payments space, and ensure our continued growth and relevance.How you’ll make an impact:

• Be part of a mature data science team, and collaborate with cross-functional teams including product management
• Bring ambitious research efforts to fruition, leading to a rigorous production launch and monitoring of observed results.
• Unlock new product opportunities by leveraging new technologies and exploring new applications
• Stay up-to-date, use, and spread knowledge of the latest technologies used by Checkout

QualificationsAbout You

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Vision / Data Science
• Proficiency in Python, scientific libraries, deep-learning and machine learning libraries, with a good understanding of software development principles.
• Great communication and documentation skills
• Experience working in agile environments and to interact effectively with a wide range of stakeholders
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team
• Payments or financial knowledge is a plus, but not a necessity
