This is based in our Warwick office. – Offering hybrid working.Job PurposeThe Internal DEI Project Lead is a key member of the DEI team, reporting to the newly created DEI Operations Manager. This role is responsible for the execution of enterprise-wide DEI initiatives with an internal focus, supporting the strategic direction of DEI across the organisation.Key responsibilities include:

  • Strategic Coordination: lead and coordinate thought leadership for DEI strategy, policy, and practices.
  • Event Oversight: manage the delivery of flagship DEI events and initiatives.
  • Corporate Reporting: assist with corporate reporting, including input and insights to scorecards and metrics.
  • Framework Development: develop and support the creation of internal DEI frameworks, guidelines, and responses.

This role requires being able to manage and deliver multiple initiatives simultaneously and effective collaboration with a wide range of stakeholders across the business to ensure a cohesive organisational approach to DEI.What you’ll do

  • Oversee and support the coordination, implementation and communication of the global DEI strategy
  • Define and manage delivery of flagship internal programs, such as self-identification initiatives and Global Inclusion Week, in collaboration with the People project management team
  • Collaborate with other DEI team members (e.g. ERG Manager, External Project Lead/Manager) to effectively co-deliver key projects
  • Support the creation of DEI narratives, insights, and data for the National Grid Board, Executive Committee, investors, and other key stakeholders
  • Lead the development and delivery of DEI narratives and case studies for the Responsible Business Charter and Annual Report
  • Manage internal DEI awareness and communication campaigns, ensuring consistent, timely, and aligned messaging.
  • Oversee and manage DEI content on internal digital platforms, including Grid:Home, Viva, At A Glance
  • Contribute to the functional scorecard, metrics, and performance contract in collaboration with People Data & Analytics team
  • Coordinate stakeholder feedback and provide input on DEI policies and practices.
  • Analyse global insights from Grid:Voice and Pulse to identify DEI hotspots.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with core Centres of Excellence (e.g., Recruitment, People & Development, and Property), identifying opportunities to enhance inclusion and equity at an enterprise level.

  • Proven ability to initiate and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously
  • Strong project management capability; skilled in planning, delivery and communication
  • Track record of thriving in fast-paced environments
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently
  • Adaptable communication style
  • Proven capability of engaging, influencing and maintaining trust-based relationships with stakeholders across the business
  • Proficiency in data analysis and generating strategic insights
  • Experience in change management
  • Good understanding of National Grid’s business operations and ways of working, including awareness of the field and operations

What you’ll getA competitive salary between £55,000 £65,000 – dependent on capabilityAs well as your base salary, you will receive a bonus of up to 15% of your salary for stretch performance and a competitive contributory pension scheme where we will double match your contribution to a maximum company contribution of 12%.
