Previous applicants do not need to re-apply.The Department of Motor Vehicles is looking for a Deputy Director Property & Asset Management for a position with its Facilities Services & Planning administration.This leadership position provides oversight, direction, and coordination for directing the implementation, administration, and evaluation of the DMV’s leases. It will also provide oversight, direction, and coordination for the assignment of service requests, coordinate, and track work in all leased and owned locations and provide follow up, negotiate easements, conduct real estate market surveys, develop a wide variety of legal documents, and prepare and process various lease documents. They will be responsible for direct supervision of Asset Coordinator, Fleet Coordinator, and the Property and Facilities Coordinator.The incumbent in this position will require advanced knowledge of principles and practices of real estate acquisition, disposition, and maintenance, advanced knowledge of real estate business practices and contracts and of the laws, rules, regulations; knowledge/experience of procedures applicable to Virginia State government procurement would be a plus.The Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV), headquartered in Richmond, Virginia, serves approximately 6.2 million licensed drivers and ID card holders with over 8.4 million registered vehicles. In addition, DMV serves a wide array of businesses, including dealers, fuels tax customers, rental companies, driving schools, other state agencies, local governments, and non-profit organizations.
