The Green Line LRT (light rail transit) Project is the largest infrastructure investment in Calgary’s history. At 10-kms, it comes with $6.2billion in commitments from the Government of Canada, Government of Alberta and The City of Calgary. The Green Line LRT is designed to be both a transit system and a platform for future city building opportunities. It encourages redevelopment and investment in Calgary businesses and communities.Your role within the team:

  • Coordinate designs, construction, and final acceptance with other City of Calgary divisions and/or Business Units.
  • Support the Technical Services Teams in the execution of their duties including non-technical interfaces within the overall Green Line team and City of Calgary asset owners.
  • Interface, support, and coordinate the design in alignment with the Project Lands.
  • Participate, oversee, and navigate design in technical meetings, (including but not limited to design criteria challenge sessions, review comments resolution), risk reviews, change management, claims and disputes resolution, and provide support for reporting.
  • Participate in risk identification and management, monitor, and mitigate risks.
  • Adhere to rules and procedures that ensure health, safety & environment as well as prevention of workplace incidents. Furthermore, in a context of continuous improvement, be proactive in improving health, safety & environment rules and procedures to prevent potential hazards related to your work.

The ideal candidate:

  • Minimum of 5-10 years of previous related engineering experience.
  • Valid engineering related degree
  • Strong written and verbal communicator with ability to communicate requirements and outcomes as they pertain to technical subjects.
  • Skills with project engineering software suites including AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and others are considered an asset.
  • Experience with cross disciplinary engineering design coordination and/or alternative project delivery models is an asset.
