The successful candidate will report to the Platform Manager, News Architecture. We are seeking a candidate responsible for designing and developing software and systems across the Corus organization. The role involves creating software that ranges from helper applications to critical systems at the core of our business.You will contribute by:

  • Design and develop user interfaces in the Skyline DataMiner platform, making complex technical systems easy to understand and enabling real-time video workflows for News operations.
  • Connect different media systems using APIs and low-code techniques to simplify day-to-day operations in a modern media environment.
  • Create UIs and front-end visualizations for specific system integrations.
  • Document created code accurately and maintain the documentation during updates.
  • Stay updated on current development trends and new tools.
  • Use best practice development methods to produce stable and easy-to-maintain code.
  • Provide realistic development timelines and meet agreed-upon deadlines.
  • Offer escalated support for the applications developed.

Skills and experience you will bring:

  • Recognized post-secondary degree in Computer Science or equivalent
  • Ability to balance business, technology, and creativity to integrate with daily operations.
  • Knowledge of software architecture, C#/.Net, MS SQL, MySQL, and Apache Cassandra databases.
  • Ability to promote new ways of thinking, including DevOps and Agile.
  • Proficiency in writing logical and well-written documentation.
  • Fast learner with a strong passion for software product integration and a deep understanding of technology and the media business.
  • Dataminer DevOps Catalyst Certification ( an asset)
  • Familiarity with cloud-based platforms such as Amazon AWS and Microsoft Azure.
  • Experience in Windows and Linux Administration.
  • Strong analytical, interpersonal, relationship, facilitation, and communication skills.
