OverviewWe are seeking an experienced insurance professional to join our Trade Credit & Surety Insurance team as a Business Development Executive. In this role, you will be responsible for actively developing, and sourcing new business opportunities. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and negotiation skills, a strong desire to achieve, and a customer-centric approach.
How you’ll make an impact
- Actively seek and respond to all new business opportunities, exceeding targets and focusing on monetary goals while maintaining a positive impact on our reputation within the market.
- Working with colleagues, introducer networks across all mid-market & Large Corporate segments within your defined region to build our brand internally & externally.
- Understand and address the needs of customers, offering a broad range of services and solutions to upsell.
- Contribute to overall targets, collaborate effectively with teammates, and act with the highest integrity.
- Attend trade-related events, dinners, AGMs, trade shows, and expos to network and seize new opportunities.
- Utilise our brand, marketing material provided, Gallagher Rugby relationship, and introducer partners to generate new clients.
- Utilise outstanding communication and negotiation skills to secure the most appropriate terms with Underwriters and Insurers.
- Liaise with stakeholders to identify opportunities for cross-selling, to “deliver the firm” to address business needs.
- Present a dynamic and professional image of our company, actively encouraging open dialogue about our industry and our expertise.
- Ability to be contribute and be an active part of a forward-thinking organisation and team.
About You
- Previous experience in a new business-focused broking role.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and be able to work flexibly when required.
- Knowledge of commercial or trade credit insurance lines, with a willingness to learn additional products.
- Sales management experience in a commercial or underwriter setting, with a keen eye for business.
- Consistent track record of delivering against targets within a regulated, measurable framework.
- Work in collaboration with your other sales/servicing colleagues to share best practice.
- Comfortable generating leads and building pipelines autonomously, working closely with the Gallagher Network.
- Eligibility to work in the UK with the ability to travel.
- An ability to self-motivate and work independently.
