SalaryThe salary range for this position is CAD $54.19/Hr. – CAD $77.89/Hr.SummaryProvidence Health Care is now hiring for a super exciting new DevOps Manager to help lead their brand new DevOps Enablement team. As the organization gears up for the opening of the in 2027, this team will help ensure our clinical teams have the organizational support they need to continue to deliver exceptional patient care.Reporting to the Director, Business Solutions and DevOps, the DevOps Manager is responsible for the administration and support of the Health Informatics business, clinical systems, applications, and related automation. This includes leading the DevOps Enablement team in ensuring that PHC managed software is of sufficient quality to deploy to production and once there, operates as efficiently as possible. In this sustainment role, the DevOps Manager directs hands-on support for business and clinical teams across PHC.Your duties will include:
- DevOps Enablement & Change Leadership: Leads the adoption of DevOps practices across teams (e.g., Software Engineering, Data Science) by introducing automation, CI/CD processes, and tools. Drives cultural and procedural change to support iterative and reliable software delivery.
- Team Leadership & Collaboration: Provides mentorship, fosters a positive team environment, and guides the DevOps Enablement team. Facilitates collaboration with internal and external Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), vendors, and clients to resolve complex technical issues.
- Process Optimization, & Performance Management: Oversees the transition of software solutions to production environments, ensures system monitoring and issue resolution, and prioritizes performance improvements using data-driven insights. Aligns operations with organizational security and cost-efficiency standards.
- Documentation & Governance: Establishes and maintains documentation for deploying, operating, and managing DevOps platforms. Ensures policies, procedures, and resources are up-to-date and supports seamless coverage of responsibilities across the team.
What You BringEducation, Training and Experience
A level of education, training and experience equivalent to a Master’s degree in, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field, plus a minimum of seven (7) years recent and related experience in an information systems technical environment:
- Managing and/or delivering enterprise support in a complex technology environment and driving change especially in DevOps and Agile Software Development practices.
- Continuous Delivery Pipelines, version control, cloud platforms and automation.
- Fostering a culture of lean and continuous improvement.
Skills and Abilities
- Experience building and supporting CI/CD pipelines, version control, and automation.
- Experience in Microsoft Azure and/or Amazon Web Services cloud platforms.
- Experience in leading, mentoring, and coaching teams.
- DevOps Certifications in Azure and/or AWS desirable.
- Proven ability to influence change and drive adoption of new ways of working.
- Advanced proficiency in Jira for workflows.
- Proven ability to apply systems thinking by identifying patterns, connections, and interdependencies to align strategy with implementation.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze operational problems and recommend innovative solutions.
- Expertise in the designated software application(s) and ability in supporting, maintaining, and administering complex applications as a subject matter expert.
- Demonstrated troubleshooting knowledge on database management, data querying and reporting.
- Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills with the ability to communicate complex ideas in simple terminology and to translate business needs into application or systems requirements.
- Physical ability to perform the duties of the job.

- Leads the introduction of DevOps practices by guiding teams such as Software Engineering, Data Science and Analytics in adopting automation, continuous integration, and continuous delivery processes. Influences change at all levels, supporting stable, reliable, and iterative delivery of software to production environments.
- Ensures effective collaboration between the DevOps Enablement team and other PHC Subject Matter Experts (SME’s) both internal and vendor teams to resolve complex problems that require deeper technical expertise or alteration to the software, including incorporating content provided by the development and the enablement teams reference materials.
- Communicates with clients, including organizational leaders and end-users, to align on strategy, gather information on challenges, provide statistics on operational/support of deployed systems. Acts as a liaison between clients and SME resources when needed.
- Oversees the transition of new software solutions (both commercial and internally developed) from test to production cloud DevOps environment. Likewise, oversees the thorough decommissioning and shutdown of software solutions when they are no longer needed by the organization.
- Coordinates with Cybersecurity Lead to ensure that the DevOps policies, procedures, and actions conform to PHC security requirements.
- Provides leadership and guidance to the DevOps Enablement team by using effective management techniques to establish work expectations and evaluate performance. Fosters a positive and engaged working environment that promotes learning and growth. Acts as a mentor for the DevOps Enablement team and provides coaching where required.
- Leads change management initiatives by guiding teams through the transition to new processes and tools, ensuring minimal disruption and successful adoption of DevOps practices.
- Ensures that production system performance is continuously analyzed, and that appropriate improvements or optimizations based on metrics and client feedback are prioritized and scheduled for action. This includes supporting management efforts to perform per project cost attribution and optimization.
- Selects and ensures deployment of monitoring tools to identify and address potential issues proactively before they impact users.
- Ensures a smooth working process for monitoring, escalation, diagnosis, and resolution of incidents.
- Oversees in-depth troubleshooting of cloud-based applications and services (both commercially acquired and developed in-house), including use of networking, storage, and compute resources.
- Defines the system of documentation that will be used to deploy, operate, and manage the DevOps platform, and ensure that these documents are kept up to date by the DevOps Enablement team. This includes creating and updating documents related to performance of duties on the different cloud platforms supported, to a quality that allows coverage of duties during absences.
- Ensures that potential solutions and patches are adequately tested before deployment to Production to ensure they do not introduce serious new issues or fail to resolve issues that are being specifically targeted.
- Hosts team meetings, leads team discussions, and collects input on the development of DevOps policies, procedures, and resource allocation.
- Performs other duties as required.
