This role focuses on ensuring platform stability, security, and compliance with secured SDLC practices while coordinating with internal Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) teams to maintain development, test, and production environments. The senior DevOps engineer plays a critical role in release planning, automation, vulnerability management, and documentation, delivering high-quality releases to internal R&D teams and customers.Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement release strategies, ensuring timely delivery of stable, secure, and compliant releases.
  • Plan and coordinate dependency updates, vulnerability management, and compliance with secured SDLC practices.
  • Collaborate with the internal SRE team to maintain development, test, and production environments.
  • Oversee CI/CD pipeline management, leveraging tools such as GitHub Actions, Terraform, and Bazel to streamline and automate workflows.
  • Manage containerization technologies (e.g., Kubernetes and Docker) for efficient cluster management and deployment.
  • Maintain comprehensive internal documentation related to release processes and technical systems.
  • Communicate release plans, progress updates, and key milestones to stakeholders, ensuring alignment across teams.
  • Participate in scrum meetings and collaborate across geographically distributed teams.

Minimum Education/Certification Requirements and Experience

  • BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field with 5 years of industry experience, MS with 3 years’ experience or PhD with 1 year experience
  • Strong expertise in Kubernetes and cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure, including cluster management.
  • Hands-on experience with GitHub for version control and CI/CD workflows.
  • Experience with Terraform for infrastructure as code and Bazel for build automation.
  • Knowledge of secured SDLC practices and managing security vulnerabilities.
  • Proficiency with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker).

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

  • Experience with dependency and version management in production environments.
  • Solid understanding of managing environments across development, test, and production stages.
  • Passion for crafting robust and efficient automated build systems.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for technical documentation and stakeholder updates.
  • Certifications in relevant cloud technologies (e.g., AWS Certified Developer, Azure Developer Associate, or Google Cloud Certified).
  • Familiarity with OAuth2, OIDC, KeyCloak, OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, and Grafana.
