Position Title: Digital Solutions Engineer – Physical Networking, Infrastructure & Operations
Status: Full-Time Support
Hours: 40 hours per week
Faculty/Department: Information Technology Services
Campus/Location: North campus
Salary: FT Support Payband K (Start $46.08 – Max $53.43)About the Digital Solutions Engineer Role:Digital Solutions Engineers design, build, operate, maintain, and secure technical solutions that support/enable Humber’s business outcomes. Solutions typically include hardware, software, people, procedures, and/or data. Day-to-day activities for Digital Solutions Engineers include: (1) performing the “work”; (2) evolving the continuous delivery pipeline; (3) building in quality; (4) adapting to change; (5) decomposing stories; (6) owning estimates; (7) sizing stories; and (8) shipping features. Digital Solution Engineers are expected to stay abreast of industry developments and emerging technologies.Higher education is constantly evolving.Digital Solutions accelerates and drives Humber’s academic and business outcomes.Established in 2019 as a unit of Information Technology Services, key areas of focus include:1 – Maximizing technology investments and controlling costs;
2 – Improving operational efficiency and processes across campus;
3 – Strengthening cybersecurity and business continuity programmes; and

QualificationsAbout You:

  • Four-year degree or equivalent in Computer Sciences and/or Information Technology Management.
  • Information Technology Infrastructure Library v4 Foundations, Agile Certified Practitioner (Project Management Institute), and A+ (CompTIA).
  • Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert: Cloud Platform and Infrastructure (Microsoft), Oracle Linux System Administrator
  • (Oracle), Red Hat Certified Engineer (Red Hat), Server+ (CompTIA), VMware Certified Professional 6.5 – Data Center
  • Virtualization (VMware), AWS Certified Solutions Engineer – Professional, Network+ (CompTIA), and/or Security+(CompTIA).

Experience/Skills

  • Minimum eight years of hands-on experience in large, complex environments designing, building, operating, maintaining, and securing enterprise-class solutions of a digital nature.

Experience with the following technologies would be an asset:

  • Firewalls, load balancers, virtual networks, etc.
  • Amazon Web Services
  • Microsoft Azure
