We are seeking a detail-oriented Cost Analyst ready to play a critical role in supporting cost estimation and analysis functions. Compensation: $40,000 to $70,000 annually
Work Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Expected Weekly Hours: 40 – 45 hours
Employment Type: Direct HireRole Overview:
As a Cost Analyst, you will organize and lead the cost estimation process, analyze detailed cost data, and maintain a comprehensive cost model. You will collaborate closely with engineering, procurement, and supplier teams to develop cost-effective solutions and support business case analyses that drive strategic sales initiatives.Key Responsibilities:
The Cost Analyst will:

• Based on engineering data, analyze cost components, including BOM (Bill of Materials), raw materials, processes, and tooling.
• Provide accurate manufacturing cost estimates and business case analyses to support the sales team.
• Develop and maintain an overarching cost model and cost database, continuously improving cost estimation methods.
• Collaborate on regional cost model development and participate in cost benchmarking activities.
• Review and analyze supplier quotes, identifying key cost drivers and influencing factors.
• Leverage automotive mechanical design and manufacturing process knowledge to assess costs effectively, applying financial acumen.
• Partner with engineering and procurement teams during new business quoting phases to establish reference cost targets.
• Foster strong technical relationships with suppliers to identify innovative, cost-effective solutions, including emerging technologies that enhance cost efficiency.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Finance, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in Automotive Engineering or Manufacturing Operations.
• 2+ years of experience in cost analysis or cost modeling roles.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with keen attention to detail.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills, with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Power BI, or related data analysis software.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and collaborate effectively across departments.
