Key Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Senior Director, Global Surgery Communications, this critical role will lead strategic communication for the MedTech Digital team and the Polyphonic digital ecosystem. This is a comprehensive communications role, extending across internal and external audiences to cover employee and culture communications, essential messaging and narrative development, thought leadership, media relations and social media, and events.
The Director, MedTech Digital Communication, will serve as a valued counselor to the Vice President of MedTech Digital while also partnering with a cross-functional teams to advance organizational priorities, drive strategy alignment, and achieve commercial goals. This role will be required to build a deep understanding of the business, technology development and strategy, and market opportunities that will inform an integrated global communications plan in support of business objectives.
This will be a highly visible role as you will work in close collaboration with functional colleagues around the world, MedTech global communications, Investor Relations, Human Resources, Legal, Johnson & Johnson leadership, and more.
This leader must be comfortable working in dynamic, fast-paced environments with multiple internal and external partners to consider. A successful candidate will also demonstrate the ability to thoughtfully advise top executives. The position will independently lead project teams of agency professionals on both an ongoing and as needed basis.

Develop and implement an integrated global communications plan for multiple audiences.

Serve as a valued counselor to the Vice President, MedTech Digital and various leadership teams working on digital technology to advance organization priorities, drive strategy alignment, and achieve commercial goals.

Lead employee and culture communications around the digital transformation of J&J MedTech, advancing culture and talent initiatives to encourage and increase engagement, retention, productivity.

Establish and implement global content calendar, spanning across earned and paid media and social media channels.

Lead thought leadership program for software and other digital technology leaders across the MedTech sector.

Develop and implement new product introductions, medical evidence, and innovation communication.

Work closely with MedTech communications partners to connect the overarching Digital messaging with the broader company narratives, drafting key messaging and providing content for global communications and commercial team use.

Partner closely with Investor Relations to strategically communicate robotics and digital initiatives, priorities and achievements with investor and analyst communities.

Partner with Legal and Media Relations teams to manage issues as needed.
Qualifications
Education:
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree is required in communication, journalism, PR, public affairs, or closely related field
Experience and Skills:
Required:
-
Minimum Of Ten (10) Years Of Experience Managing Communication in a company, NGO, Government Agency Or Public Relations Agency.

Experience working in communications for B2B software and other digital technology.
-
Demonstrated ability to build deep, authentic, successful relationships with top executives and scientists and strong influence with senior internal and external partners.

Exceptional attention to detail with superior writing and presentation development skills.
-
Ability to drive workforce engagement and culture strategies to inspire and enhance productivity is required.

Ability to manage networks in a matrixed environment.
-
Proven track record of successful, independent public relations/communications, corporate communication, science communication, product communication, public affairs, and/or media relations achievements.

Strong intuition for business, confident yet agile personality, the ability to adapt quickly and the ability to provide strong counsel in real time.

Deep understanding of media and business analytics, traditional media, digital and social platforms and strong experience with national and local lay, professional/trade and social media.

Experience in managing budgets and resource allocation across large critical projects.
Preferred:

Current or past experience with direct People Leadership skills is preferred.

Global mentality and successful track record of working in a global function with direct experience leading international projects, issues and teams, and of proficient internal and external partner interactions on an international basis is preferred.

Current or past work experience in organizational communications with responsibility for internal and external initiatives is preferred.
-
Proven experience in healthcare communications is preferred.
Other:
- Up to 30% domestic and international travel required
The anticipated base pay range for this position is $142,000 to $244,950.
The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion on an individual basis.
