If you dream of joining an organization that is small enough for you to be noticed, but big enough to provide you with a meaningful career, then we want to hear from you!Job DescriptionThe House of Commons’ Digital Services and Real Property is currently looking to staff the role of Director, Cyber Security Operations.The Director, Cyber Security Operations is accountable for ensuring a unified and seamless delivery of security services and initiatives to Members of Parliament, the House of Commons (HoC) Administration, and their partners.The Director leads both the Security Operations Center (SOC) and the High-Risk Travel support team, as well as leading the integration and delivery of security services throughout their lifecycle, establishing collaborative, cross-functional, and modern practices and processes to maintain consistent, reliable, and effective security operations.The incumbent is expected to lead various initiatives and services related to cybersecurity operations, threat detection and response. In this context, the incumbent provides strategic direction, driving the success and resilience of security operations while leading multi-disciplinary teams working across functional boundaries and collaborating with internal and external partners to safeguard the organization’s assets and stakeholders.The incumbent is the primary contact for security incidents and plays a crucial role in ensuring swift and effective responses to any cyber threats or incidents. QualificationsEducation :

  • Successful completion of a university degree in Information Technology, system engineering or an acceptable combination of formal education, training and/or experience in the relevant fields.
  • Relevant professional security certification in a related information technology domain is considered an asset.

Experience :

  • Experience managing teams within a Security Operations Center (SOC), overseeing real-time security monitoring, threat detection, and incident response to safeguard critical systems and data; Candidates with extensive experience managing and leading IT operations teams overseeing incident response, change management and service request fulfillment will also be considered;
  • Extensive experience setting strategic direction, ensuring operational excellence, and fostering high-performing, collaborative team environments;
  • Strong record in driving operational efficiencies and leading process improvements within IT operations teams to enhance service reliability and performance;
  • Significant expertise in resource planning and allocation to balance team workloads, optimize costs, and meet both day-to-day operational needs and strategic project demands;
  • Experience building collaborative relationships with business units to understand requirements and ensure IT operations support organizational priorities effectively.

Assets :

  • Experience in managing SOC tools and technologies, ensuring the SOC team has the appropriate resources, technologies, and training to effectively identify and mitigate security risks;
  • Experience working with the House of Commons’ IT infrastructure and operations;
  • Experience leading client-facing support teams.
