Join us to build the digital economy of tomorrow.Job DescriptionWe’re looking for a Director, Head of Sanctions Compliance for checkout.com, based in London.You will join a growing international team dedicated to Compliance. Reporting into the Head of Financial Crime Controls, this role will be responsible for overseeing the global team in fulfilling the Anti-Money Laundering (AML)/Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) requirements through enhanced evaluation, identification, and research of relationships on behalf of Checkout.com.Team responsibilities include leadership and guidance in performing analysis and improving due diligence on results from Sanctions, custom watch lists, Adverse Media and PEP watchlist screening of merchant accounts according to Checkout.com’s policy and procedures. The role will partner with Checkout.com’s first line unit teams, coordinating and conducting complex sanctions case investigations, assisting with internal control identification, promoting program improvements, and supporting continuous monitoring activities.They will also oversee the preparation of voluntary self-disclosures, documentation of corrective actions, preparation of regulatory correspondence, as well as communications of OFAC and Sanctions updates. The incumbent will oversee sanctions compliance activity summary statistics and weekly status report. The role will also require updates to the Checkout.com colleagues on global sanctions regulatory changes and providing direct assistance to the Compliance Leadership Team.How You’ll Make An ImpactLead global sanctions team providing guidance and insight into Sanctions requirementsAnalyze output of OFAC/Sanctions and other applicable watch list screening and make decisions on appropriate action to take.Review sanctions tooling to ensure it is fit for purpose. As changes are needed, drive the changes in close partnership with product and engineering.Work in coordination with Checkout.com’s internal departments to obtain and elevate necessary information related to the analysis.Lead implementation of OFAC/Sanctions and other screening detection methods, such as training and instruction manuals.Develop departmental reporting.Support any special projects or critical casework.File Voluntary self-disclosure reports with the relevant global sanction’s authorities * Analyse sanctions related critical issues from Business lines and take appropriate action.QualificationsWhat we’re looking forMinimum 10 years of experience within regulated companies, in senior compliance role(s) with robust knowledge on Compliance topics (KYB / KYC, AML/CFT, Sanctions etc.)Knowledge and experience within Payments/Fintech and Money Transmitter License compliance.Strong analytical skills with experience in problem solving and being able to implement and deliver solutions.Good organizational, partner management skills and willingness to expand technical knowledge in a broad range of projects.Demonstrate clear sense of accountability in performing the role and a positive demeanor (can-do attitude and solution oriented mindset).Ability to identify inefficiencies, see the bigger picture, challenge the current status quo and define scalable and sustainable processes.Well organized self-starter, able to prioritize quickly and meet deadlines even under pressure.Team player with strong collaborative qualities, including some previous experience (or willingness) to build, lead and motivate a team.Willingness to learn continuously and keep up to date with the Payments industry and its regulatory landscape (Globally).Proficiency in Fircosoft, Microsoft Excel, Access, Word, and/or experience in using other database applicationsAdditional InformationApply without meeting all requirements statementIf you don’t meet all the requirements but think you might still be right for the role, please apply anyway.
