About the OpportunityKhoury College of Computer Sciences seeks a Director of Industry Partnerships for Student Learning for the Seattle and Vancouver campuses. Reporting to the Assistant Dean of Computing Programs for Vancouver and Seattle, the Director is responsible for positioning Khoury as a leader and preferred partner for industry-academic research-based partnerships in Vancouver and Seattle.Drawing from the network, strength, and reputation of the greater Northeastern University network, the Director will further Khoury’s local research capabilities via developing project and capstone partnerships with local industry, non-profit and government institutions. The position will also focus on increasing Khoury’s public profile and reputation in the local and greater community. Supporting the academic leadership team, the Director will further inter-departmental and inter-campus R&D opportunities that involve various internal and external stakeholders.Responsibilities:Create model for ongoing strategic partnershipsCoordinate the Student Showcase for the Vancouver and Seattle campusesEstablish a timeline and model that creates internal best practices for Khoury Vancouver & Seattle to engage, nurture, and retain ongoing strategic partnerships with various external partnersWork with faculty on additional touch points with industry and community in support of courses and student experience (e.g., studio tours, guest speaking, mentoring, advisory committee, etc)Design and Implement, and maintain Terms and Conditions documents (including IP and NDA requirements) for capstone and research partnershipsCoordinate Capstone Scoping Session with Campus Director of Strategic PartnershipsLiaise with industry partners to make sure they have everything they need for a successful project and stay engaged at the right levelSupport marketing and communications in both the development of messaging and in the promotion of the value and benefits of Khoury’s partnership opportunitiesIncrease attendance at campus events (including the Student Showcase)Liase with key stakeholdersLiaise with Boston-based research and partnership teamsLiaise with campus-based industry partnership team to find which opportunities fit for the local Khoury teamLiaise with faculty on potential projects, goals, timelines and course alignmentDevelop new course project partnersIncrease course project partners 25-50% year-over-yearBring in potential project partners to meet specific course and program needs and align with timelines and institutional goalsScope course, capstone and research projects with new industry and community partnersQualifications:– Minimum 10-15 years in a senior research partnership development role; ideally a mix of industry and academic experience in leadership roles– Established professional network of clients within a variety of industries that would have an interest in Khoury Computing Science graduates– Knowledge of and experience with government and research grants and funding agencies– Excellent presenting skills with experience communicating with internal and external audiences– Experience with knowledge/IP transfer terms– Ability to translate and negotiate client goals to meet academic needs (academic terms, working with students/faculty, promotion, and publication, etc.)– Self-directed and entrepreneurial while being a team-player– Experience building Affiliate programs and relationships engaging with multiple stakeholders– Ability to manage end-to-end client acquisition process with positive results– Purpose driven person who builds win-win relationships and values making a positive impact on students and the greater communityDocuments to Submit:Resume and cover letterAbout Khoury College:Khoury College is committed to building a diverse and inclusive community among students, faculty and staff.
