  • A Bachelor’s degree in nursing, or equivalent experience and education
  • A license to practice in Alberta and current registration with CARNA
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant nursing experience, preferably in emergency or occupational health
  • Current CPR certification
  • Completed or willing to pursue a diploma or certificate in occupational health or disability management

Responsibilities:

  • Obtain, assess, and evaluate relevant information related to the employee’s case from varying third party providers to aid in safe return to work
  • Exercise ethical and professional judgment in determining the appropriate collection, use and disclosure of personal health information, working closely with our privacy officer, human resources, labor relations and legal counsel
  • Monitor and manage employees following an injury or illness to ensure abilities to perform job functions safely
  • Minimize production interruption as it pertains to both occupational and non-occupational illness and injury
  • Manage, maintain, and promote employee health while following occupational health and safety regulations
  • Present disability management cases to stakeholders, highlighting timelines and risk mitigation strategies

Location and other Key Details:

  • You will work out of a Syncrude location in Fort McMurray OR our Calgary head office, located in the Suncor Energy Centre at 150 – 6th Ave S.W.
  • Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday
  • Occasional travel to site may be required
