MBDAJob Title: Early Careers Programmes Recruiter – HR AdvisorFixed Term Contract for 12-18 monthsSalary: Circa £45,000 – £50,000 depending on experienceLocation: StevenageDynamic (hybrid) working: At least 1-2 days per week on-site (subject to workload and business needs) – typically one of these days will be a ThursdaySecurity Clearance:Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. As a minimum and after offer stage, all successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS), which are managed by the MBDA Personnel Security Team.The opportunity:
- We are looking for a pragmatic structured recruitment professional to support the delivery of our Early Careers Programmes (Undergraduates, Graduates and Apprentices). This is an exciting fast paced environment involving a broad range of activities primarily including recruitment and assessment but may occasionally include support towards talent attraction and education liaison.
- You will have a brilliant opportunity to play an active role in the delivery of the UK Early Careers Programme (ECP) recruitment strategy in line with the overall business requirements.
- Delivery of “virtual” assessment centres, including the training of managers involved in recruitment process.
- Act as the HR point of contact for all undergraduate and/or summer placement queries in the lead up to and during their programmes
- Work closely with hiring manager and/or point of contacts across the business agreeing numbers to recruit, manage, and generally take responsibility throughout the recruitment & assessment process, both internally and externally.
- Responsible for ensuring that MBDA’s careers website and the ATS/HR platform is maintained with accurate and timely information.
- Work with Remuneration and Benefits and ECP development team within Learning & Development (with manager support) to agree starting salaries, joining bonuses, package etc.
- Support and lead “Assessment Day Leads” unconscious bias awareness training and advise and guide managers involved in recruitment process to enable assessment days run smoothly and professionally including assessment day feedback with candidates (including offer/management).
- On-boarding – facilitating the integration of new programme participants including pre-joining activities and inductions.
- Pastoral care for placement students ensuring they have a challenging relevant placement.
- Deliver presentations / training to stakeholders and external candidates (where required)
- The role may require additional support including education liaison, talent attraction including schools, university events/career fairs, industry/trade shows and internal events so UK travel may be expected. This may also include representing the company or ECP team with external forums, occasional awards ceremonies and other related events.

What we’re looking for from you:
- First and foremost we need someone who has the drive and dedication to succeed coupled with an enthusiasm for early careers recruitment with the ability to travel and do whatever is needed.
- Experience and understanding of Early Careers recruitment
- Experience and understanding of an annual volume rotation
- Ability to work at pace, under pressure and across all levels of the organisation
- Ability to persuade and influence others at a more senior level
- Possess previous HR/Onsite experience within a recruitment/resourcing function.
- Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision and manage and create own workload
- Strong problem solving, analytical and reporting skills
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Understand and have a working knowledge of current HR legislation and policies
- Microsoft office experience: intermediate Excel skills, plus proficient user of PowerPoint and Word
- Excellent PC skills – MS Office, Recruitment systems experience desirable
