DescriptionThis role has a starting salary of £29,697 per annum, based on a 36-hour working week.We are excited to be hiring a new Early Help Hub Advisor to join our fantastic Early Help Hub team based in Woking.Rewards and Benefits

About the TeamThe Early Help Hub is based within Surrey’s Children Single Point of Access, which is the first point of contact if and when there are any worries or support needs for children and their families.The Early Help Hub works collaboratively with multi-agency partners, such as Surrey Police and health colleagues, to ensure that the right advice and support is provided at the right time for our children, young people and their families. The aim is to empower them to feel safe and confident so that they are resilient and positive about their futures.About the RoleWe are looking for positive and passionate people to join our Early Help Hub, which is responsible for receiving referrals about children, screening the information received with a view to providing advice and guidance to children, their families and partner agencies, on the range of suitable Early Help services that are available to access in their community, in line with identified needs.You will work as part of a well-supported team who together respond to referral requests for support, ensuring they are dealt with appropriately to meet the needs of the child, young person or family, assessing the most appropriate support required. Through your work you will identify opportunities for improving outcomes as well as risks requiring escalation, ensuring we deliver our commitments within agreed timeframes.We provide regular supervision, supportive leadership and a working environment that is curious and child-friendly. Our most recent Ofsted reports confirm that: ‘The Early Help Hub is well-managed, employing skilled and professionally curious Early Help Advisors who have a child-centred and evaluative approach.’You will have the ability to work collaboratively and build meaningful working relationships with children and families, as well as key partners in a short space of time. In all that you do, you will work to ensure that effective support is in place to allow children with early help needs or targeted help needs achieve the best possible outcomes.Shortlisting CriteriaTo be shortlisted to interview for this position your application will clearly evidence:

  • Minimum of a Level 3 qualification in a related area (such as Education, Social Care etc.) and at least 2 years experience of working with children and young people and the issues they face
  • A clear understanding of Early Help, including its purpose and benefits
  • Ability to communicate clearly in a respectful way with a broad range of individuals
  • A good level of IT literacy
  • Ability to understand and explain detailed processes and concepts
  • Organisational skills and ability to manage and prioritise your workload to meet competing demand
