Explore with us-your journey starts here.What You’ll DoReporting to the Early Years Supervisor, through an Indigenous lens the Early Years Educator provides culturally relevant learning opportunities at EarlyON sites and in mobile programs. The role supports families, caregivers, and professionals to prepare children aged 0-6 years for lifelong learning, health, and well-being. The Early Years Educator will deepen general knowledge of Indigenous culture within inclusive environments. Programs and activities take place on the land as well as indoors for a wide variety of activities that all parents/ caregivers and children will enjoy. The program integrates traditional teaching and promotes understanding and respect for the rich culture and language of Indigenous communities in Bruce County.Contract Duration: 12 months with a possibility of extension.What We’re Looking ForWhat We’re Looking For
Education & Experience

  • Two-year post-secondary diploma in Early Childhood Education or equivalent
  • Two years of experience working in an Early Childhood setting or Family Support Program

Skills & Abilities

  • Clean Vulnerable Sector Criminal Reference Check
  • Registration with the College of Early Childhood Education (ECE)
  • Current Standard First Aid training
  • Indigenous community-based experience
  • Experience working with families and other agencies and ability to maintain positive professional boundaries
  • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
  • High flexibility with strong interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse environment
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain lasting working relationships
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs
  • Valid Class G Driver’s License

  • Competitive Salary: $38.96-$45.84 per hour
  • Hours per week: 20
  • Percentage in lieu of benefits
