S’more about the teamWe are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Designer for a 1-year contract to support the HelloFresh and Chef’s Plate weekly recipe card process. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating and managing the layout and design of recipe cards using Adobe InDesign, ensuring each card is engaging, easy to follow, and consistent with our brand guidelines. Reporting to the Lead Recipe Editor and working closely with the Editorial team, you will play a key role in ensuring our recipe cards are visually appealing and user-friendly. We seek your fresh perspective on our current card design and production process.Lettuce share what this role will be responsible for

  • Layout and produce over 100 recipe cards every week across HelloFresh and Chefs Plate brand
  • Propose and implement recipe card design improvements while maintaining brand requirements
  • Point of contact for external ops team, providing feedback on v1 of card design, sharing template updates and tracking errors with the goal of continuous improvement
  • Establish effective collaboration with the brand team to drive improvements in card design
  • Source photography from digital asset management system and resize as needed
  • Adapt text from recipes and format for content management system integration into InDesign templates
  • Continually prioritize workflow to adhere to production schedule, creatively problem-solving clashes
  • Work efficiently, proactively getting recipe cards into near-final state to minimize rounds of feedback
  • Identify processes gaps and opportunities and work with product ops team to implement them
  • Oversee quality control of recipe cards, ensuring all photography, ingredients, steps, and requested modifications are accurately addressed
  • Contribute to design efforts on specialty projects
  • Refine design workflows in response to the menu’s continuous growth
  • All other duties, as assigned

  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Arts, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Proven experience as a graphic designer with a strong portfolio showcasing expertise in Adobe InDesign
  • Strong understanding of typography, color theory, and layout principles
  • Excellent attention to detail and a keen eye for aesthetics
  • Advanced organizational skills and confidence to handle multiple deadlines in a given week
  • A desire to continuously seek and implement process improvement
  • Confidence in your work and abilities – you’re able to problem-solve independently
  • Proven experience as a graphic designer with a strong portfolio showcasing expertise in Adobe InDesign
  • Knowledge of print production processes and file preparation is preferred
  • Experience working in a publishing or marketing environment is an asset
