Roles and Responsibilities

  • Determine method of construction, safety procedures and requirements, manpower levels, material quantities, equipment, temporary power sources, work schedule and document actual hours worked
  • Coordinate assigned work with different crafts, company departments and/or other contractors
  • Maintain liaison with safety department, engineering, estimating and planning to ensure work complies with safety policies, drawings, specifications and schedules
  • Serve as senior technical advisor to project supervision to assist in difficult construction, or start-up problems
  • Assist in the development of supervision training programs
  • Provide expertise and technical knowledge to others
  • Actively track scope work utilizing the Change and Trend Management process
  • Align crews with adequate supervision to accomplish tasks in a safe effective manner
  • Assign Shift Work Assignments to appropriate level of supervision
  • Coordinate subcontractor involvement in work activities
  • Develop a strong understanding of the Clients Engineering Specifications and how they relate to specified discipline
  • Ensure protocol is followed regarding incident reporting and review
  • Verify quality/inspection of installation
  • Validate that all tools and equipment being used in the work execution have been inspected and are in good repair, colour coded as required
  • Mitigate problems arising from loss of time production and inefficiencies
  • Provide Front Line supervision
  • Regularly communicate work progress, schedule variance, crew and safety performance to the client and project manager
  • Verify accuracy of daily progression
  • Review and validate daily time sheets
  • Manage employees through performance appraisals and discipline
  • Follow all company policies and procedures including Company’s Health and Safety program
  • Understand and follow company Quality Control Program
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required Experience

  • Minimum 3 years of experience working as a Foreman
  • Has been responsible for managing, organizing and executing work for crews
  • Completion of Fourth Year schooling and hours
  • Electrical Trade Certification/Red Seal
  • Master Electrician

Additional Requirements

  • Travel may be required
  • Position may be on a job site
