In this role, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining strong relationships with local businesses and employers, with the aim of creating employment opportunities for our clients. You will work closely with our Employment Advisors and other team members to match job seekers with suitable employment options and ensure a successful transition into employment.Please note that this is a temporary contract until March 2025 – with the possibility of extension subject to further funding.RequirementsOutline of Key responsibilities for the Employer Engagement Officer include…
- Establish strong and enduring connections with local businesses and employers to obtain valuable understanding of their hiring requirements, as well as to promote our client base and services.
- Explore and pursue new employment and training opportunities through initiatives at the local, regional, and national levels.
- Collaborate closely with Employment Advisors and other team members to effectively match job seekers with appropriate employment options.
- Organize engaging workshops and other events to enhance the employability skills of job seekers.
- Provide unwavering support and guidance to job seekers throughout the entire employment process, including preparing for interviews and developing strategies to retain jobs.
- Design and oversee the seamless delivery of employer programs and engagement activities.
- Support the recruitment process by leveraging in-depth knowledge of employers and working closely with the employment team to maximize clients’ chances of securing employment. Assist in delivering new and existing projects aligned with our organization’s employment objectives.
- Meet and exceed set targets, including non-regulated activities and job outcomes.
- Promote our employability services actively to Housing staff, partner agencies, and local businesses.
- Develop and maintain crucial relationships with employers and partner organizations.
- Engage directly with local businesses and employers to gain deeper understanding of their needs, while promoting our client base and services.
- Demonstrate effective client relationship management, achievement of targets and objectives, and provide evidence of impact through accurate documentation. Produce and update marketing materials as necessary.
We are looking for someone who has…
- Prior experience in a similar role i.e. Employment Advisor or Employer Engagement.
- Strong networking and relationship-building skills.
- Knowledge of the local job market and employment trends.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Full Driving Licence

- Starting Salary of £26,862 per annum
- Annual salary increment increases
- 27 days annual leave (rising to 32 over 5 years’ service) + bank holidays
