The Growth Company’s (GC) Employment team have an exciting new opportunity for an Employer Engagement Consultant to provide a quality bespoke recruitment service to participants on the Supported Employment Service which will also include working with employers for work experience opportunities. Supported Employment works with participants that have learning difficulties and/or autism that would like to enter work. You will be working with key partners and employers in the city to ensure good quality opportunities that are sustainable and meet the participants needs.We help to make a lasting difference to the lives of people throughout the North of England and beyond, by supporting individuals to gain meaningful employment.Our highly skilled advisers and keyworkers work with a range of individuals; from people who have found themselves recently out of work, to those with complex barriers such as physical disabilities, mental ill-health and debt.This role is remote with 1 or 2 days within the community so use of own transport would be an advantage.Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a range of activity which produces leads and creates the opportunity to sell products and services to employers.
  • Undertaking a consultative approach with employers to identify their recruitment and workforce development needs aligned to GC Employments business objectives for current and future contracts. In addition, where appropriate upselling cross services from The Growth Company product range, to maximise income through the sale of multiple Group services which will be on benefit to the business worked with.
  • Effectively account manager employers by maintaining and develop relationships, providing excellent levels of service, regular review, ensuring that repeat business is generated, and where appropriate that new services from the Group’s product range are taken up.
  • Fully understand the caseload requirements of the Supported Employment Service participants and on current and future contracts and source suitable vacancies by conducting direct employer sales and customer reverse marketing sales activity.
  • Meet customers regularly to ensure a good knowledge of the customer base and vacancies needed to support their progression into employment to meet the objectives of contracts worked on.
  • Advertise surplus vacancies internally (and externally where appropriate) in a clear and concise manner, providing all the information required enabling operational staff to identify suitable candidates for vacancies.
  • Arrange interviews with employers and clearly communicate the interview details with both the customer and the customers operational advisors.
  • Conduct employer in work support contact regularly to ensure sustainment and provide support for the employer – this could include providing information on access to work funding or accessing training for staff.

About you:

  • A warm, approachable style to delivery is required in order to build relationships and rapport.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to negotiate with voluntary, charitable and private organisations to optimize placements as well as managing expectations and dealing with complaints or issues.
  • Networking and communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Ability to work to challenging targets and KPIs.
  • Well-developed IT skills, including an understanding of computerised management.
  • Knowledge of recruitment and training services.
  • Good knowledge of welfare to work and the customer base.

Skills Required:

  • Must have previous sales experience.
  • Experience of working with people that have disabilities.
  • Excellent knowledge of the local labour market, methods of recruitment and growth industries.
  • Ideally experience of securing vacancies and subsequently securing job starts.
  • Recent experience of working to challenging targets within a sales environment.
  • Flexible approach to work including willingness to travel and working occasional unsociable hours.
  • information systems, spreadsheets, diary management, and e-mail.
  • Ability to make contact with decision makers, identifying business opportunities and closing contracts.
