BetterPoints specialises in behaviour change solutions for transport, health and environment.

If you are passionate about helping people to travel more actively and sustainably – and the
benefits this can bring in terms of fighting climate change, improving air quality and
achieving better public health outcomes – you could be our perfect Engagement Coordinator.

We are looking for an excellent communicator who is results-led, energetic and well-organised
to lead the delivery of our campaigns in the Strathclyde area, with the role running from September for up to nine months.

The Context

BetterPoints has been working in the Strathclyde Transport Partnership area to reduce single
occupancy vehicle use through various campaigns. We currently have programmes running in
Renfrewshire, South Lanarkshire and East Dunbartonshire. People who live, work or study in the
participating council areas can download the free BetterPoints app and earn rewards for
walking, wheeling, cycling and using public transport.

The Engagement Coordinator role

Working closely with the dedicated BetterPoints Programme Manager and the client team at the
Council, the Coordinator will:

  • Engage stakeholders to support the challenge, including local charities, businesses,
strategic employers and public sector organisations.
  • Plan and run a program of events to promote the campaigns, including engagement events at
workplaces and promoting the campaign at public events e.g. local festivals
  • Meet agreed targets for organisations and individuals participating in the campaign
  • Coordinate local promotion and PR for the event
  • Create social media and communications for a range of local partners

The successful candidate will:

  • Be friendly, outgoing and engaging
  • Have excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Be very well organised, highly motivated and able to work independently
  • Ideally have a good knowledge of the local area
  • Be committed to sustainability and ideally have relevant experience and connections
  • Be confident using a wide range of IT and communications tools and able to pick up new
    skills quickly

The role will be for approximately 30-40 days working flexibly from September through to March
2025 with the potential to extend or expand the role based on performance. Pay will be £150+
per day depending on experience (equivalent to £39,000+ FT salary) and there will be an
incentivised bonus for meeting agreed targets.
