The Finance domain within Central Functions has extensive and exciting portfolios of change planned, which has created an opportunity for a Solution Designer to join the team.We’re looking for an experienced and motivated Solution Designer to help Nationwide’s Finance Architecture team realise its strategic outcomes through IT change and innovation.At Nationwide we offer hybrid working wherever possible. You can also find out more about our approach to .If we receive a high volume of relevant applications, we may close the advert earlier than the advertised date, so please apply as soon as you can.What you’ll be doingAs a Solution Designer you will use your expertise and experience to refine and interpret business requirements into design specifications that will inform developers and infrastructure engineers enabling them to deliver resilient, secure and performant solutions.You will work with Business Analysts, Architects, Engineers and other stakeholders to define both high-level and detailed documentation, ensuring compliance with our organisational guardrails to deliver the right solutions in the right way.This is an opportunity to work in a respected and proven team where we must continue develop personally, professionally, and collectively to remain successful. • Demonstrable track record of solution analysis and design across a variety of projects.
• Experience in applying reference architectures, patterns and standards.
• Proven delivery of high-quality project deliverables including High-Level Designs, Detailed Designs, Interface Specifications and Impact Assessments.
• Comprehensive integration design experience (e.g. batch, API).
• Worked with Agile and/or ‘waterfall’ based methodologies.
• The ability and mindset to quickly learn new technologies concepts and apply them to create new solutions is essential.
• Some development experience as a practical foundation for design.
• Experience with data design and modern data platforms (e.g. Data Lakehouse).

Experience in at least one of the following areas:

• Financial Services, or other similar regulated sectors.
• Cloud and On-premises development projects.
• Infrastructure and network design.
• Technologies such as: SAP S/4HANA FPSL, Oracle PeopleSoft Financials, Autorek, Hyperion, Board, QRM, SAS.
