DescriptionWE ARE HIRING: ETHNIC FOOD COOK, APPRENTICEJob Duties

  • Preparing soft dough for flat breads, pies, bread bites and sticks
  • Preparing slow cooked dishes, pot roasts, roasted meats, stocks and sauces
  • Maintaining inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment
  • Cleaning kitchen and work area

Education: Registered Apprenticeship certificateApprenticeship training: Level one Apprenticeship trainingExperience: 7 months to less than 1 year in French, Greek, Italian or European cuisineCertification: Safe Food HandlingPersonal suitability: Dependability, Client focus, Initiative, Team player, Flexibility, Reliability, OrganizedWork conditions and physical capabilities: Attention to details, Fast-paced environment, Physically demanding, Repetitive tasks, Work under pressureTerms of employment: Part time (12 hours/week), leading to full time,Language of work: EnglishWage: $ 18/hourEmployment group: YouthLocation of work: 17 Clarence Street, Ottawa, ON, K1N 5P4Closest intersection: Sussex/ClarenceObtaining competencies: to prepare and cook Macedonian meals and food: (1) slow cooked dishes, pot roasts, roasted meats, stocks, and sauces; and (2) soft dough products (70% hydration) including flat breads, pies, bread bites and sticksSpecialization: Macedonian traditional and modern cuisine and cooking operations; Macedonian slow cooked dishes, soft dough products, pot roasts and roasted meats prepared in traditional wood/gas fired ovenOnly the selected candidates will be contacted for an interview.
