Exchequer Services sits within Corporate Finance and is the Councils back-office support function for transactional services.The teams undertake tasks involving a high volume of transactions, reporting and data, incorporating a number of different systems and processes.This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and organised individual with strong leadership and ICT skills to join Exchequer Services. The successful candidate will report to the Operations Manager and work alongside two other Team Managers overseeing all of the following areas of Exchequer:
This is a busy and challenging role which involves leading teams to deliver the above services to a high level, and working closely with internal and external stakeholders resolving queries, providing advice and improving working processes.We are facing significant finance system changes over the next two years. The upcoming system changes present a fantastic opportunity for someone with experience in a finance transactional role with the skillset and experience to implement financial or income management system and process change, with robust ICT and change management skills. This period will be filled with dynamic projects and innovative solutions, offering a chance to make a significant impact.This role will not only allow you to apply your existing expertise but also to grow and adapt to new challenges, making it an exciting and rewarding journey.Team Managers must ensure the work is organised, prioritised and allocated across teams and completed to a high standard of accuracy to meet key deadlines and service requirements.The role holder will line manage a team of staff, providing support, arranging training, ensuring procedures are in place and carrying out line management responsibilities in accordance with Council HR policies. The Team Managers also support the Operations Manager and deputise in their absence on key issues.Flexible hybrid working arrangements are currently in place for this role.
