Job description
Consider joining the City of Edmonton as a Bookings and Rentals Clerk. In this role, you will utilize your exceptional clerical skills to assist individuals in booking City of Edmonton facilities! You must have excellent customer service skills, the ability to manage multiple requests, and display great attention to detail. - Assist clients with booking venues for various activities such as sporting activities, special events and private functions at City Sports Fields and Park sites
- Receive and respond to customer requests for booking facilities in a timely manner
- Assist individuals and groups in the completion of application forms and obtaining the necessary information
- Explain rules and regulations to individuals and user groups using the facilities
- Create and issue rental contracts authorizing facility use by using registration software (RAMS/Intelli)
- Verify, approve and give the final sign-off on rental details with customers
- Coordinate scheduling with Parks, Facilities and River Valley Operations staff
- Place orders and process payments, including cash handling and deposit preparation
- Follow up, investigate, and report all complaints from the public and facility operations
- Provide coordination support for facility events, as a liaison between rental groups and Operations staff
Qualifications
- Completion of Grade 12 including business subjects related to word and information processing or completion of a Business/Office Administration Certificate
- A minimum of two years experience in general office practices and procedures, including assisting in the training of less experienced staff
Assets:
- Experience utilizing booking software programs (such as Intelligenz)
- Experience in a venue booking environment
- Proficiency with a variety of related computer software programs including Google Applications, Microsoft Suite, and
- Recreation or attraction related software
- Knowledge of recreation facilities venues and activities

- Strong communication, organizational, prioritization, and time management skills
- Ability to implement and to ensure compliance with the City’s policies and procedures
- Must be able to work independently and in a team environment

- Hire is dependent upon a Police Information Check satisfactory to the City of Edmonton
- Valid Alberta Class 5 driver’s license (or provincial equivalent). Must obtain business auto insurance for personal vehicle use on city business
Work Environment:
- The weekly hours of work for this position are currently under review and may change at a future time. Any changes will be made in accordance with the City of Edmonton/Civic Service Union 52 collective agreement and the incumbent will be notified in advance
- Currently, the position is a hybrid working environment between Edmonton Tower and household remote, weekdays between the hours of 7:30am – 5:30pm
