We are hiring for an assembly runner in a fast-paced manufacturing facility on the Northside of Jacksonville.Schedule is Monday to Friday 7am to 3:30pm (start time may be as early as 6am during high season)Pay: $21.50/hrThe primary responsibilities are to prep and transport materials needed by the assemblers to the work space, ensuring that operators do not run out, and prepare and prep flat cartons to be used for finished goods and deliver to each work space. This position is also a reliever – to fill-in-for or relieve the Operators or Inspector/Boxer positions for restroom breaks or other needs that cause them to step away from the machine; this allows production to continue while an Operator or Inspector/Boxer is away. As a reliever, it is important for the Runner to cross-train/be able to perform all three [3] assembly positions as well as the Inspector/Boxer position.TasksCross-train on other jobs within the department & other jobs in the plant as required-Be flexible to changes in organizational and departmental procedures-Keep work areas clean and organized-Participate in departmental & plant Lean projects-Comply with all safety policies including wearing required PPE-Be aware of LOCK-OUT/TAG-OUT, recognize LOTO-situations, & understand general LOTO-Review the BWPs of the jobs/positions on which trained or cross-trained-Experience, & SkillsHave above average communication skills- [needed to communicate with Operators, Inspector/Box, Leads]-Be able to read and write English- [needed for production reports and work orders]-Have good basic math skills-Be able to read a tape measure to 1/16″Be able to read, write, and understand fractions to 1/16″Be able to multi-task-Be able to lift up to 50 lbs alone; use lifts for lifting heavier materials/goods-Be able to stand, bend, & reach a majority of the work day-Be flexible and adapt well to change- production schedule changes are not uncommon-Have a positive and cooperative attitude-Be punctual, have good attendance, and be dependable-Be friendly-to and respectful-of co-workers & leadership-personnel-Be able to work alone, with a partner, or as a team- with minimal supervision-Be safety conscious- perform tasks in a safe manner; use proper lifting techniques; wear proper PPE-Be quality oriented- focus on making good quality filters while keeping scrap & waste levels low-This is a drug free work place. All applicants must be willing to submit to a drug test and background check.
