Designing a positive Earth future.About this role:We have an opportunity to join our Finance team on a full-time basis as Finance Manager in our head office in London. You’ll be reporting to the Head of Finance, leading and motivating two direct reports, and performing a broad role within the Pangaia finance team.This role will oversee the day-to-day transactional finance functions and involve continuous interaction with key internal and external stakeholders. There are several ongoing projects in the transactional finance team that this role supports.This is a hybrid role (3 days per week in the office(Mon-Weds).Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing two Assistant Accountants and overseeing the purchase ledger, sales ledger and cashbook postings to ensure postings are timely and accurate.
  • Drive the continuous improvement of end-to-end accounting practices.
  • Prepare and post monthly accounting journals, including revenue, accruals and prepayment journals.
  • Leading the analysis of monthly and quarterly financial performance through variance analysis, presenting to the Head of Finance and CEO.
  • Supporting the annual budget and quarterly forecasting processes.
  • Managing an end-to-end audit process of current systems – while acting as the first point of contact for external auditors.
  • Continually identify risks to delivery and propose solutions where necessary and effectively manage stakeholder expectations throughout.
  • Support preparation of direct and indirect cash flow forecasts and champion good cost and cash controls across the business.
  • Leading the Assistant Accountants responsible for payroll, VAT and HMRC processes.

RequirementsKnowledge, Experience and Skills:Required:

  • A qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA)
  • Excellent people management skills with previous experience leading and motivating direct reports or a team
  • Strong communications skills with the ability to build relationships across the business
  • Previous experience in performing or managing transactional finance processes (Accounts Payable/Receivable/Cash Management)
  • Demonstrable experience in fast paced business environments;
  • Use of financial IT systems to ensure accurate processing of high-volume transactional data
  • Experience of small-scale process improvement and implementation
  • Analytical mindset with experience in data analysis and manipulating information/ data
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines and manage and prioritise issues

Desirable, but not essential:

  • Oracle NetSuite experience
  • Experience within a retail or e-commerce business would be highly advantageous.
