Job Description:Robert Half is assisting a pharmaceutical firm based in Livingston to hire a Financial Accountant for their expanding team. This company, with a longstanding reputation, is a major global player in its industry. This new role has been created to bolster the company’s sustainable growth trajectory over the long term.The Financial Accountant will report to the Financial Controller and will handle a variety of responsibilities. These include preparing financial statements, monitoring financial data, and ensuring compliance with legal regulations. You will also engage in internal audits, analyse costs and revenues, assist with budgeting, and manage tax payments. Additionally, you will collaborate with and provide insights to senior management to support investment decisions.Responsibilities

  • Responsible for supporting production of annual Statutory Accounts including Holding Companies
  • Oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, taxes, treasury and cash management.
  • Manage month-end and year-end closing to meet all deadlines (fixed assets, payroll, balance sheet accounts analysis, accrual’s)
  • Responsible for cash flow forecasting
  • Review and analyse monthly accounting statements and upload trial balance and reporting pack for Group consolidation
  • Responsible for Balance Sheet reconciliations – maintaining in depth understanding
  • Manage customer ageing balance and appropriate collection actions in collaboration with commercial team
  • Prepare financial statements and statutory entries for tax purposes
  • Line management responsibilities

Key Requirements

  • Accounting qualification with ideally 3 years of experience
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles UK GAAP and IFRS
  • Experienced ERP knowledge
  • SAP FI-CO experience
  • Excellent Excel skills
  • Being organised, ability to prioritise effectively and take initiative
  • Experience in training and mentoring others
